She looked at the man, as he way now standing right in front of her. His clothes looked really wierd, their green tone making him stand out like a sore thumb in the snow. He looked worried, unsure of why a teenager was in a mountain so cold. "why are you here? Let me take you back home, it's not safe here."
The girl stared at him, her cold eyes felt unsettling as if something much darker was hidden behind them. The adventurer got startled, stepping back. Who was this stange girl and why was she there, why was she glaring at him so violently. Finnaly, she spoke "for how long..has it snowed?"
The man thought of it as an odd question, the mountain was always recorded, even in old textbooks as a snowy hell. "a long time, i doubt another form of it even existed" those words made her more confused, there was no way her luscious homeland could have turned into this frosty place.
Maybe she wasn't in her mone after all, maybe the gods teleported her to somewhere else. "are you okay?" the adventurer asks, startling the girl that was deep in her thoughts "im fine.." she awsers, a bit uneasy "let me take you back to our camp then, I don't want neither of us to freeze out here"
As they both walk through the snowy grounds, she couldn't help but take in her suroundings, they looked so similar to her home. This only confused her more, nothing in her head made sense and even if it did, she refused to believe it.
"By the way, my name is Lloyd. Im an adventurer" he smiled politely, reminding the girl of the outlander, he was an adventurer too, a strong one from the tales her mom told her "What's your name?" Lloyd asked, especting an answer. "[Y/N], that's my name.."
She smiles faintly at him, maybe it might have been a lie but she always wanted to have that name, it was like killing two birds with one stone. They got to the big plains at the bottom of the mountain, the frosty trees and snowy grounds felt so welcoming for her. The man grabs her wrist gently, trying to lead her through another route.
"let's go this way, it's safer" she looked back, trying to see what was wrong "what's so dangerous about going that way..?" the girl asked, following him regardless. He stared back at her, almost surprised at how oblivious she was "that place is filled with fatui, don't you know about them? "
[Y/N] shakes her head, wondering what the 'fatui' was. Maybe it was the name of one of those monsters, or poisonous plants. "they are a group of really scary and bad people, don't go near them alright?" the adventurer smiles, leading her the other way.
"There are really strong people there, called harbingers. If you see one, run you really don't want to meet them" Lloyd explained a few more things about the fatui, scaring the girl to some extent. She couldn't belive gods would be so cruel has to make an organization like that. Maybe the gods have really changed.
As the duo walked trough the snowy plains, the cold breeze freezing the adventurer as he tried not to die in front of a kid. Little did he notice the prying eyes on them from the surounding hills until is was too late, they've been ambushed by his living nightmares.
A bullet came crashing down, penetrating Lloyd's leg. A red fatui agent stood in front of them, his expression hidden under his mask. The adventurer glared at him, seems pretty personal maybe a secret love a fair, haha no of course not. "We meet again, with company this time" the agant said in an arrogant tone.
[Y/N] looks away, even though she couldn't see it she knew the fatui agent was looking at her and not in the nicest way. "Leave her out of this, she did nothing wrong" the man protests, if only his leg wasn't immobilized with a bullet, he could actually do something.
"I dont know about that, you adventurers have been getting pretty annoying lately." he looked at his colleagues that stood not far behind from the victims. "how about breaking him first, he seems ready for it" the girl looked to see where the voice came from, finding a big blue fatuus next to him stood another red agent hilding a big gun.
"what about her?" the red one asked, pointing his gun at the young teenager. She looks surprised, the weapon looked strong but it was her first time seeing one like that. "She's not too much of a bother, finish her after. I have a show to watch" the first agent turns to Lloyd, grinning sickly.
The adventurer gritted his teeth, not wanting to let [Y/N] see him die here "Allow me to do the honors" the big fatui agent said, a gush of wind coming out of his thick metal gloves.
Lloyd sighs, looking pitifully at the girl. He pulls out his sword, even if it was little he would do his best to defend himself."hah, you haven't given up yet? Even after all those times we beat you" the agent throws a punch at him, one that Lloyd managed to avoid. A sting of pain echoed trough his body as he moved, almost unbearable. The fatuus moves swiftly, reaching out to tdy and grab the man, unfortunately for him, the adventurer uses his sword to block the attack.
The blade come in contact with the heavy metal from the gloves, as the agent closes his hand evolving the sword shattering is heard. His eyes widen in surprise as his opponent smilled widely, this felt so unfair..he only wanted to help other, was it really gonna end here, no..he had to fight, to protect everyone. Before he could finish processing everything, bad luck stoke and a large hand gripped onto his head tightly.
"Gotcha punk" he says firmly, using his left hand to smash the adventurer's head agains the stone on the ground. One, two, three times..the count never ended, the snow turned dark, the air thick with one sided horror, life being robbed away by undeserving people. Laugher soon followed, happy and glad leughs as the first agent walked closer to the goresome scene.
[Y/N] felt like vomiting, seing someone that wanted to help her now have such disfigured skull was painful. Even worse was being close to thhe people who did that to him, what if they did it to her too, the thought made he shiver. Luckly for her they had other plans, maybe worse ones, maybe not.
"How about you go back with us, girl?" the red agent asked, even if there was little choice in the question. As long as they had no reason to hurt her, it was alright. "I.." before she could finish someone interrupted her "Of course you will-" the big guy grabbed her arm, only to suffer an ironic fate.
In an instant, his whole body turned to ice, no signs of life remaining inside it. [Y/N]'s eyes widen as she saw the man in front of her loose vitality. The gods surely cursed her, it was a nightmare, why did she have to endure this, why did she have to see all of this. She snapped out her thoughts when they pointed the gun at her "what have you done.."
