Aurora tugs up her pants with a scoff and stands beside me, glaring down at Isaac, "what do you know about me?"
Isaac doesn't look at her or respond, he spits at her feet, and I wrap a hand around his throat. My claws extend, piercing into his flesh and his blood spurts out, soaking my hand in its warmth.
"What we are not going to do is disrespect the most powerful creature in this kingdom. You are nothing to her, Isaac. You are the dirt at her feet. She could kill you in the blink of an eye. You are insignificant and unimportant, and the only reason you are still alive is because I enjoy making you suffer, and you might still have information that could be useful to us."
I feel the tips of Aurora's fingers trailing across the back of my neck and I can't help the shiver that goes down my spine every time she does that. Isaac finally looks up at her and his eyes widen as she smiles at him.
"What do you know about me?" She asks again, her voice low and coated with disgust.
"I know Cassandra has been searching for you for years. I know she had you arrested and sent to the Stallard manor, but when you killed your baby, Cassian insisted you be put in the dungeons instead."
"She's the one who sent me to the Stallard's?" Aurora narrows her eyes angrily and Isaac nods.
"Yes, she knew what kind of people they are so she had Cassian send you to them. She... she said she wanted you docile and... submissive."
Aurora scoffs again and Isaac cowers under her intense glare and swallows thickly, "it seems to have had the opposite effect."
Both Aurora and I let out a chuckle and she actually smirks, "you don't say?"
I pull out a dagger and another little vial of lightsbane from the black box, and I pour it over the blade. Isaac eyes me warily and I give him a smile, "Tell me, Isaac," I say, slicing into his chest and watching as he convulses in pain. "What is it exactly that Cassandra wants? Aside from Aurora of course, what is her end game?"
I let his blood soak his shirt and I trail the tip of the blade down the side of his face. His body shakes and he stutters as he talks, but he answers me, just as I knew he would.
"S-she wants to unite the three kingdoms under her. She had Cassian k-kill his father so he could rule the Emberi Empire, she planned to crown Lu-lucien as the Dema King, and she herself wants to rule over the Crescent Kingdom... It was her mothers original plan to kill Lothar and take his throne."
"Well, she's fucking ambitious, isn't she?" Aurora grunts.
"How many people does she have working for her?" I ask him, wondering just how big of an army we have coming for us.
"I don't know exactly," he says, and I plunge the dagger into his chest, barely scraping his heart and causing him to scream in agony as the lightsbane on the blade consumes him in pain.
"Give me something, Isaac," I say, twisting the dagger and watching as he cries like a little bitch.
"Several... several thousand at least." He breathes heavily, and I rip the blade out of him, wiping the blood off on his shirt.
"Are any of them from Lothar's kingdom? Does he have traitors among him?"
Isaac nods, his eyes glued to the dagger in my hands, "yes, but I don't know who. She never told us."
I look at the other three, Xavier still hunched over coughing, and Killian and Viktor just regaining consciousness, "do either of you know which of Lothar's alphas have betrayed him to Cassandra?"
They all shake their heads and I sigh, glancing up at Aurora, "we will have to tell him he has traitors running his packs. He may need to return home."
