Walking with her brother is just the thing to calm her down. She has been up since the crack of dawn getting the ceremony together. She loves this pack for helping her grow and for the kindness that they have shown toward her and her brother. She was ten years old when the elders told her she was chosen to be the next Luna, and since then, she has been taking classes to be the best Luna for the pack with Luna Maki as her guide. Rintaro is completely indifference towards her and when she brings it up, she has been told that he's going through a phase. It's not like she was the one to say she wanted to be Luna. She was forced into doing it. His anger needs to be directed at the elders and not her.
Today is the day her brother becomes Pack Beta, and she will become Luna after Rintaro calls her name. They make it to the double doors, and the guards open them. They bow politely, and she smiles at them. They make their way onto the stage next to the Alpha family. There are many visiting packs the Karasuno, Seijoh, Netkoma, and the Royal Family Itachiyama. These are the main packs of their respective regions. The royal family usually goes to all transfers so they can put names on faces and roles.
The Head Elder, Ojiro, starts the ceremony with a brief overview of how the pack is run and who will receive what roles. The official ceremony starts when he acknowledges our growth and outlines our tutoring to prepare us for that role. As the main figureheads, we have to set examples of whatever the pack needs us to be.
"I am truly grateful that these young shifters have shown us that hard work and dedication pay well in advance. I am satisfied to say that put my absolute trust in Alpha Rintaro and Beta Atsumu. Alpha, please call out our beloved Luna's name as the ritual states." With that, Elder Ojiro is finished. Rintaro rises, and Atsumu and I stay kneeling.
"Of course, Elder, the name of my Luna shall be Shoyo Hinata of the Karasuno pack." He said that so clearly and without remorse that the whole room was in shock. Well, the shock did not last long because I heard my brother speak.
"What the actual fuck is wrong with you!" He looked at the new Alpha. I, however, cannot speak, "My Luna is Shoyo Hinata. Stand down, Beta." Rintaro spoke so coldly.
I cannot look at him as I stand up to my feet. He has embarrassed not only me but the pack as well. Atsumu looked like he was ready to launch at the Alpha. But as this happened, a short ginger beta woman walked on stage. She has all the characteristics of an Omega, but it was clear as day that she was a Beta. As she walked past me, she smiled. I know too much about politics not to understand that if I do not leave, she will make my life a living hell.
I decided to calm down my brother before his mates joined in. I stood before my brother while Rintaro wrapped his arm around Shoyo protectively. " Tsumu, please calm down. I'm okay. Please, I promise I am okay." I spoke slowly and never took my eyes off him; a feral shifter is a recipe for disaster. It was effective like I hoped it would be. I was immediately pulled into a protective hug, and without a second thought, Atsumu escorted me off stage. We left the ballroom, and I could hear my brother's mates following behind us. I must leave tonight. Otherwise, my life will take a turn for the worse.
Atsumu opened the door, and Ginjima closed it. Their other two mates are Aran, Elder Ojiro's grandson, and Kita, the Son of the head farmer and head Chef. All 3 of Tsum's mates took on the Miya Family name. Aran was pacing back and forth; Kita looked calm but was most likely to join in whatever revenge plot Ginjima had planned. Atsumu refuses to release me, and I am glad we made it to the couch. At times like this, it's best to let all my overprotective brothers start the venting process before I try to calm them down.
"What if we put laxatives in his food." Ginjima started, "No, too simple to get over. He needs pain." Aran Counter "We could destroy his bike?" Kita said. "No, he'll just ask his parents for a new one," Atsumu grumbled. This is my cue to speak up. "We could just run away. Having Luna Shoyo and myself here will cause unnecessary friction within the pack. We could travel for a while and maybe go to the King and Queen to request starting our own pack." I finished my statement, and the mates looked at one another. "Okay, Let's do that," Ginjima said.
Once I had the green light, I politely asked my brother to release me so we could leave. "I don't want anyone trying to stop us. With that said, it was a rush against time. We packed two weeks' worth of clothing and took all our identification and money. We agreed to leave our phones and decided against leaving a note. We piled into our RV and took off. Between the five of us, we have enough money not to work for the next three to four years, including travel expenses.
Aran was driving, Kita was the passenger and the rest of us were in the back. As Aran got closer and closer to the border, we mentally prepared ourselves to cut off all connection to the Inarizaki Pact. "Get ready." It was Kita's only warning before the connection was pulled on, and we severed it. When I looked around, no one was in pain, and by the look on their faces, I was not the only one surprised. "To Freedom!" My annoying twin yelled, but I couldn't help but agree. It's been a long day for me, so I leaned against the person next to me and went to sleep. We can decide on a destination after I wake up.
