Gwen sighs, sitting down on the bed. Tonight was going to be extremely fun, only if they could get everything in order. "Lights out in five, guys. Emma and I have gotta go, because it's Counselor's Karaoke Night!" Lou yelled.
"I hope Hazel doesn't sing. It attracts coyotes." Tiffany sighs. They think a moose is dying."
"Can I go?" Zuri asked. "I've got a Merle Haggard tribute medley I'm dying to bust out!" She smiles, eagerly.
"Sorry, Zuri, as much as we'd love to hear that, this event is for counselors and CITs only."
"But I'm a teenager now!" Zuri fought back. "How can you treat me the same as a baby who plays with her coloring book?"
"This "coloring book" happens to be a map of the Helix Nebula in the Aquarius Constellation!" Tiffany looked up correcting her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Nerd baby." She replied back. Zuri groaned, focusing her energy on them. "This is so unfair! How come I can't be a CIT?"
"Zuri, you're not old enough."
"Plus, it's a big job, with a lot of responsibility," Emma mentioned.
"How hard can it be? You do it." Zuri said.
Gwen smirked, putting her hand over her mouth.
"It also takes people skills. Strike two." Emma said clocking back. Gwen smiles, lying down and watching all of this play out. It was too good to miss.

At camp, the evening buzzed with excitement as everyone hurried to the big karaoke jam. Sage and Gwen were speed-walking toward the outdoor stage, eager to snag good seats, when a voice called out from behind them.
"Hey! Wait up!" April, a determined teenager, came jogging toward them, her face set in an intense expression.
Sage and Gwen exchanged a look, both silently groaning.
"Great," Sage muttered under her breath. "This should be fun."
Gwen smirked. "I can already tell this is going to be good."
April finally caught up, breathless but not backing down. "I demand to be a CIT."
Both counselors paused, exchanging glances. Gwen crossed her arms. "Oh, you *demand*? Well, when you put it that way, how could we possibly say no?"
Sage raised an eyebrow. "Totally. Because that's how we make decisions around here—by who's loudest."
April, ignoring the sarcasm, doubled down. "I'm serious! I've been at this camp for three summers now, and I know all the rules, all the activities. It's about time I got some authority."
Zuri, standing nearby and watching, came over and quickly sided with April. "She's right, you know. We need to do something about this."
Sage rolled her eyes. "Oh no, Gwen, she's got backup. What are we gonna do?" she said mockingly, acting as if she were in real trouble.
