"Hey, is he looking at me?" I whispered to Ishani, trying to keep my voice steady.
I didn't dare turn my head, but I could feel it-his gaze, dark and unrelenting, like a predator watching its prey.
Ishani gasped, gripping my arm. "Oh my God, yes! He is looking straight at you!" Her voice brimmed with excitement. "I think you should wave at him!"
Before I could stop her, she lifted her hand and waved.
"Ishani, no!" I hissed under my breath, panic shooting through me.
But it was too late.
He raised one eyebrow, an amused smirk tugging at his lips, and then-he waved back.
Ishani practically squealed. "Look! He responded to me!"
I exhaled sharply, shaking my head. "You're so silly. How could you wave at someone you don't even know?"
