Devil's Eight Parted Canyon: Battle of The Golden Chips

Chapter One: Valenhigh Start To The Race

Let's take you down to the Devil's Canyon, it's a bit cliche but that's what it is. This is an eight potted Canyon all connected through interlocking caves and bridges. It makes traversal but difficult especially with sandstorms. This Canyon there's one thing you should know everything has a price and all that price it's a few chips. But right now we're going to focus on someone else a young boy making his way through the town of ValenHigh.

Bunch of rough grizzled cowboys meet up in a saloon it's very loud and crowded a bunch of them are circling around the bar. They all seem to have chips on the table making bets which horse is going to win the race. Not to mention the rest of the bars pretty active too. Poker games, a piano, and even a good old bar test arm wrestling is what it is today. Just then as all of this is happening someone steps in the Spurs on their shoes rattling as they walk. Their fingers tucked into their belt. Before they grab a man by the shoulder and tossing out of their way. This is the corrupt sheriff of ValenHigh his name "John Macksen". See John is always been a sour bitter man and him being elected sheriff only enforce that. He abused his power and used it to get whatever he wished whether it be free gun oil or even a new saddle he didn't care. Most people been challenge him because he's the sheriff, you can have your head over the slightest thing but there is one person who didn't care. As a horse comes to a hold outside a kid starts walking up he's probably in his early twenties too late teenage years no older than 22. That kid is a blonde wearing yellow hat a silver double action revolver right on his hip, he is wearing pretty generic cowboy attire. As he enters the saloon he runs over and jumps up onto the bar as he takes a few steps annoying the patrons before kicking the radio changing the channel to a more upbeat and cheery channel. This set up the people in the bar is they yell out

"God damn it Billy!"

It seems this kid has a knack for getting in trouble, and is well known in the town of ValenHigh. But John hasn't gotten up in fact he still looking at his drink one that he regularly gets. But one of the thugs one of the other cowboys he stands up and he grabs Billy by his vest as he says

"All right kid I'm going to give you the count of three. If you don't switch the damn station back I'ma make sure your dancing with the cacti."

But Billy he's unfazed he merely smiles before he places his hand on top of the other dudes wrist and asked.

"You know who I am clearly, so you want to put that on a dual?"

As this immediately gets the big dude angered as he pulls out his revolver he exclaims.

"Damn right I'll put it on a dual!"

He didn't even give Billy the time to react before he already had his iron against Billy's head. But then something happened a bang echoed through the saloon everyone's attention was pulled on to this site. The thug that was holding Billy his jaw was laying on the floor right beside him. As John steps up a smoking gun in hand as he says.

"Listen here, if anyone is going to kill Billy The Kid it's going to be me. So how about all you turn around and let me in the boy go outside it's finally time I get my... revenge."

As Billy hears this he smiles before jumping back, then kicking a glass into the face of John. With laughter he says.

"You're the one accepting the duel? then let's dual no reason to go outside, or you just too afraid of letting all these people see you lose. Because well you're terribly ass."

Billy said confidently as Jack rubbed his nose looking over raising his single action revolver. Billy jumped right on top of the piano with a smirk on his face he grabbed the hat off The pianist head and tossed it over towards John. Before jumping down he's sprinted over he grabbed a bottle on the table and threw it. John quickly turned shooting the bottle but missing Billy. I
As Billy danced his way went over and spun around the Support beam, grabbing a picture of a prize pig off the beam and said.

"I didn't realize they had your ma's picture in the bar. Oh God she's hideous."

This merely enraged John as he shot another bullet towards Billy. This one Billy didn't dodge instead he kicked a table causing the contents of the table including someone's flask flying to the direction of the bullet. As the contents of the table flew in front of the bullet Billy he reached down to his hip is he grabbed his double action revolver, raising it up and pulled the trigger. Two shots rang out, that's all it took for the corrupt sheriff known as John Macksen to die. And Billy he walked away like nothing happened. Before turning around and smiling and exclaiming.

"I almost forgot, I won the duel. And as the law of the land whoever wins a duel gets to impose a rule. I imposed the Macksen family has to give away all their possessions to the saloon, but all their chips go to me."

Billy said confidently. As I do suppose this should be explained, in this Canyon not only is it the main form of currency poker chips but duals a key point in Western society. All duals have increase stakes including the fact whoever wins a duel imposes a rule that must be followed by the losers family. And because of that the Canyon is run by duels. The next few days go by in almost a blur the town does not hold a ceremony for their sheriff like most towns do as this one's town sheriff was corrupt. But as we tune back into the salon we hear a voice come over the radio that of an old man with a deep voice.

"Hello everyone, it is I the owner of the golden ship casino. The only casino on water, but we've done somethin. We have made this casino in the middle of the canyon just for all of y'all. But this ain't no normal casino, it only allows The Best of the Best of the gunslingers is all around. Around each of the major 14 towns. There is one Golden Chip in each of them, those gunslingers who collect them all who have their chance at the Golden Chip Casino. The newest casino out there and trust me you're going to want to win and there is some very special prizes."

The radio broadcast ends, as it gets Billy's ears rattling like a snake's tail at the idea of making fortunes just from being a gunslinger that's a dream which Billy wants to be a part of. Fantasy of his so it doesn't take him long to jump up out of his seat before sprinting out of saloon leaving everyone in a bit of a shock, as sure Billy has been eager but this is nothing they've ever seen. It doesn't take him long to return back home, to a house that used to hold two people the house for a single mother and a child. This does make Billy take a moment remembering back to when a gunslinger kidnapped his mother, the main reason he decided to be a gunslinger.

As he starts packing up his things whether it be a random pan to an extra bullet he make sure to pack up all of it. Loading it all onto his trusty steed, though he does soon realize he has to cut back a bit and leave some things behind. His horse can't hold his entire house on its back. After packing up the essentials he turns to the open trails ValenHigh wasn't a major town it was a minor one at Best so he knew there would be no golden chips here he best set his eyes too Chiphorn, The next closest major town.
