I watch Max as he calls the other initiates' names before finally getting to the E's, "Eaton, Raven." I can already hear the whispers as everyone cranes their necks painfully to see if I'll join my brother or stay with Marcus. I have the sketches of Evelyn and Tobias in my hoodie pocket, so I'm not worried about what he'll find when he finally cleans out my room. I take the blade from Max, who whispers, "Your brother is eager to see you." His words strengthen my resolve to transfer to Dauntless as I hold my hand over the flames that represent Dauntless. Max calls, probably a bit smugly, "DAUNTLESS!" The Dauntless roar their approval, chanting because I'm the last initiate, "WE'VE GOT FOUR'S LITTLE SISTER! WE'VE GOT FOUR'S LITTLE SISTER!" Their chants continue as the largest of the initiates swings me onto his back and runs to the beam that leads up to the tracks, starting the ascent to the tracks. I hang on tight, not wanting to fall, but he doesn't drop me, but continues running until he jumps onto the train, letting me off his back safely. Once I'm on my feet, I smack him across the face, "Don't you do that ever again!" Everyone stares at me in shock, but the boy only smiles, "I sincerely apologize. I promise to never pick you up again." Thank goodness, I think as I sat down, and a Dauntless girl a year older than me(below) sits next to me, "I'm Christina. I transferred from Candor last year." I nod, "It's nice to meet you, Christina." She looks thoughtful for a moment, "Do you know Tris?" "Hard not to when we've been friends since diapers," I say with a slight smile, having visited Tris and Tobias last year on Visiting Day. Ever since my brother had transferred, I made sure to go to the Dauntless Compound on Visiting Day, but now I'm going to the compound for good.

Christina looks at me, "Everyone knows who you are... you know that, right?" "Hard not to, since three years ago, what I did was in all the Erudite articles, taking all the focus off Marcus for a good amount of time. I'm pretty sure he was hoping that I would stay to take over his position once I finished initiation," I say, and she smiles, "I honestly can't see you wearing grey your entire life." I laugh, "Thanks, neither can I. So... how do you know her?" She smiles, "We're best friends." I glare, "I'm her best friend, so you can't be," desperately failing at hiding the vulnerability in my voice. "Okay, then we're friends," she amended, clearly not liking the sudden hostility mixed with vulnerability in my voice. Was I really that replaceable? That thought grips my chest as I think about how many others I had a good relationship with could easily find someone else to fill my place in their lives. A boy her age (below) with dark blue hair sits on the other side of me, "You'll always be Tris' best friend. No one can replace you. I'm Will... I transferred from Erudite last year."
