Hello there! My name is Matt, and welcome to Spotlight!
I'm here to give a greeting, a few thanks, some warnings, a run-down of the chapters, some other important notes, and maybe a cup of tea or two, you fancy a chamomile?
First, I would like to thank my friends, both online and not, for being so supportive of this experience! I've never written a full-length book before, so I definitely needed the motivation! I would also like to thank the fans of the roleplay, for making Spotlight grow into not only a big, fun game, but now a book! Oh, my family? Thanks for giving birth to me, there's no way I'd be writing this book if i wasn't born.
Now! A few warnings...if you don't like any of these things, consider not reading this! Or maybe not.
This book contains:
Gore/Gore scenes
Descriptions of grotesque things
Swearing ( i try not to make them swear that much)
Romance (mostly minimal things)
Terrible people (aren't we all)
Arguments, manipulation and sadism
Homosexuals (aren't we all)
Amateur writing
All characters are fictional and are at least 18 years old.
Now that I've scared away the uninterested (and maybe got a few weirdos interested here and there...) it's time to give you all a chapter list! Here is everything you need to know.
Chapters 1-2 - Introduction chapters. These do not contain the actual main content of the book (the game) and are simply to introduce some characters. Feel free to skip them if you don't care (but please don't!)
Chapter 3-4 - The beginning! This is where the main game premise actually starts, and you get to meet every character. These chapters CAN be skipped since it isn't the "main" content yet, but it shouldn't be, since you'll be missing out on a few character quirks and some explanations for the game itself.
Chapters 5-11 - The game! These are the main chapters and if you skip these, you might as well not read the book. They consist of rounds 1-7.
Chapter 12 - The epilogue. It's the final and smallest chapter. No reason to really skip it (unless you're a weirdo...)
And that's everything I needed to tell you about the story! Now, you can immerse yourselves in the world of murder and mystery (just not 2), brought to you by the best writer in the world (i got shakespeare to write this with me believe me guys)! Without further ado, turn a page, and let's begin:
