Chaerin could obviously tell that Hyunbin did not seem right. She hesitated and thought that he was unhappy about Krystal's matter. In fact, Hyunbin had been quite busy recently. He left the house early and returned late, so even if she wanted to tell him anything, she never had the chance...

"Hyunbin, Krystal knows she's wrong. She's already repented many times. Have you seen how wan and sallow she looks now? Even I can't bear to see it. She isstill our child," Chaerin spoke as her heart ached. She was her daughter after all. No matter what it was, could she really blame her? In fact, the way Krystal was right now was so similar to how she was years ago.

"This is the good daughter that you raised. She would plot to frame even her own sister! Compared to you, she's really outperformed her master. Why? Have I hit the nail on the head?" Hyunbin glared at Chaerin coldly. His sharp eagle eyes had a cold light although his tone was extremely calm.

"Hyunbin, I... Those things are in the past. Now, we..."

Before Chaerin could finish, Hyunbin already cut her off. "We? Only you would acknowledge that there's a 'we'. You and I are only maintaining a relationship based on that marriage certificate. I've wasted more than 20 years. You'd better enjoy the taste of this.

"Do you think that by forcing Ye-Jin to leave me, I would fancy you? How preposterous! As amazing as you may be, you wouldn't compare to a finger of hers. Do you understand?"

When Hyunbin said this, Chaerin was stunned. Her whole body began to tremble involuntarily.

No matter how it was, he had never spoken to her like this. Recently, he seemed to be becoming more and more like this.

"Ye-Jin... Ye-Jin, Ye-Jin, Ye-Jin! You only have her in your heart, don't you? Which part of my love for you loses out to hers? I'm willing to go against my father wishes, willing to go far to another country, willing to let others curse me of being shameless! All of this, who do I do it for? I thought that after being burdened with so much and quietly persevering for so many years, I thought I could move you and finally get some sort of consolation from you! But now? How do I, Chaerin, lose to Ye-Jin? Tell me!"

Chaerin still carried her princess attitude when she was criticized by Hyunbin. She was obviously miserable. All of the recent grievances that she had suppressed immediately rushed up and the scenes of her conversation with Ye-Jin started to flash past her mind. She could not help but lose control as she scowled at Hyunbin with red eyes.

Sadly, Hyunbin just sneered indifferently. His cold heart never melted. He lowered his body and looked mockingly at Chaerin as he said icily, "Are you asking how you lose to Ye-Jin? To me, you're nothing like her at all because the person I care about will forever be her while you..."

Suddenly, Hyunbin's tall figure walked past her and left a distant shadow behind.

As she watched Hyunbin's figure vanish out of the doorway, from the corner of Chaerin's swollen eyes, she could not hold back her tears. After a very long while, she turned to leave the room. However, she had just walked out when she bumped into Sun Yeong in the hallway.

Sun Yeong's expression was calm as she watched Hyunbin walk downstairs. There was still a crisp, indistinct light in her still eyes. It was hard to tell what she was thinking about.

When she heard footsteps behind her, Sun Yeong turned around. Indeed, she saw Chaerin who looked down behind her. She frowned and her aged voice came through with a stern manner that could not be concealed, "What happened? Did you two fight?"

When Chaerin heard Sun Yeong demand the truth, she suddenly felt like crying. The tears that welled up in her eyes were about to fall, so she covered her face and kept on breathing deeply. After a while, she finally eased and she looked at Sun Yeong squarely. "Mother, I'm fine."

However, when Sun Yeong saw her like this, and she turned to watch Hyunbin's indifferent figure walk away, her grey brows furrowed further. "Enough! When can you spend more thought on Hyunbin? I can still watch out for you now, but what if you're alone after this? What are you planning to do? Your mother hasn't stopped worrying about you. Earlier, when I went to the Yue family, she kept harping on you and Xin Er. Work harder! It's already been more than 20 years. Even a heart of stone can be softened!"

Chaerin felt incredibly upset, so she could not help but whine, "Mother, I know, but Hyunbin keeps blaming me for what happened years ago. I don't understand why it's so hard for him to forget Ye-Jin, that slut!"

Sun Yeong just scoffed coldly. "It doesn't matter whether he forgets or not. As long as you hold on tight to your position as the mayor's wife, stand your ground. Ye-Jin is still the one without a rightful title, so what if he loves you or not? You can still push her down. The person who can rightfully stand by Hyunbin's side is you. You're the rightful wife. You just have to remember this!"

Sun Yeong spoke quite justifiedly, "Just like how I can control Yueying now. Controlling these is the one true skill. Even when it comes to Xin Er, I always teach her to do so."

"Mother, but I can't let Kai and Krystal break up either. I heard that Kai hasn't gone back to the villa for the past few days! I'm worried. If it were not for Jennie that little slut, it wouldn't have broken them up. What do we do?"

As Chaerin spoke, her eyes were filled with worry.

When Jennie was mentioned, Sun Yeong's expression changed. Her gaze started to be unfathomable. Obviously, she did not forget the fact that Jennie and Lisa's marriage was real.

A mix of emotions surged in her heart, and she could not help but be concerned. In fact, she was still a little shocked. She pondered for a moment before saying wisely, "About Jennie's matter, don't do anything rash first. Avoid bringing trouble to yourself."

"Mother, I got it. She's now the phoenix. That slut Ye-Jin is probably still laughing at us. I really don't know how she got so lucky!" As Chaerin spoke, an indescribable chilly light flickered in her eyes.

"Enough, stop talking like this. No matter what, she's still from the Kim family. When you go out the next time, don't say such things that demean our family." Sun Yeong shot her a look unhappily. Only then did Chaerin lower her head slightly.

"But, Mother, look at Jennie! She's treating you as an outsider. She only called on Father and Hyunbin. Clearly, she did it intentionally. How presumptuous! Many people will be talking behind your back if the word gets out!"

Sun Yeong's expression inevitably turned hostile once again!
