The sun casted a warm glow on the grass, the scent of flowers filling the air. Paintbrush and Fan sat under a tree as the two of them had their own time to themselves. Paintbrush was sketching quietly while Fan was just admiring the flowers. Fan had convinced Paintbrush to accompany him to a garden since they had nothing else to do; and Paintbrush went along with him.

It felt peaceful there. The silence was comfortable; it was combined with the sound of the leaves rustling among the various trees. It was an afternoon, so the sun was still more beautiful than ever. It made the grass warm and felt nice to lay down on.

As they were sketching, Paintbrush could faintly hear the sound of something rustling near where they were. They lowered their sketchbook to see what Fan was doing. It looked like he was weaving something.

"What're you doing?" They broke the silence, scooting closer behind him in an attempt to see whatever he's doing.

"You'll see!" Paintbrush had an awfully confused look on their face before going back to sketching. They would think about that later. For now, they would enjoy the peace that they had at the moment.

A few minutes later as Paintbrush continued sketching whatever they had in mind, they heard Fan call out their name.

"Painty!!"

"Mhm?" They raised their head from their sketchbook to see Fan holding a flower crown in his hands. It looked like it consisted of pink and yellow tulips with some daisies scattered around. It looked pretty to Paintbrush.

"Lower your head." Paintbrush complies, bowing their head a bit lower so that Fan could reach. They could feel the texture of the flowers and their stems faintly touching their bristles. He looks back up and sees Fan's face. He had a genuine smile on his face, silently giggling to himself.

"Do you like it?" Fan asked, still keeping the grin on his face.

Paintbrush lifts their hand to feel the flowers surrounding their bristles before resting it on the side of their face. Their face was hot; burning hot. Was it just the sun? Whatever it was, they swore it wasn't because of Fan's laugh.

"...Yeah. I do." They mumbled out, slightly embarrassed at nothing in particular.

"Good!" Fan exclaimed, lightly kicking his feet.

"How do I look?"

"Hmm...very pretty!" Their face heated up even more. Over a dumb compliment.

"Hehe, thanks..." They avoided eye contact as their bristles started to slightly heat up in response to the compliment; they were quite flattered, to be honest. Fan almost immediately noticed and laughed even harder. There was a scowl on their face, but it definitely wouldn't stay for long; especially because of Fan.

As the sky slowly got darker and darker, the both of them laid down on the soft grass in a comfortable silence. They stared at the sky, admiring the dreamy sky that was above them. It was perfect and absolutely nothing could've ruined the moment that they had.

As they laid there, Fan reached out to grab Paintbrush's hand in a tight grip. They hesitated, but slowly intertwined their fingers with each other. Paintbrush glances at Fan, getting a peek of Fan smiling at them. Their eyes lit up in response. They paused for a moment before laughing to each other, tightening the grip on their hand.

Fan brings their intertwined hands closer to his face before giving it a light kiss. Paintbrush almost immediately lets go, their bristles heating up in an instant. Fan laughs at the sudden movement and tries to pull Paintbrush closer to him again.

"FAN!—" They had a small scowl on their face, but they weren't particularly upset. If they had the courage to, they would've asked Fan to do it again. They would never actually do it, though. They were too nervous to do so.

As Fan's laughter slowly died down, they both laid there peacefully. As the time passed, the evening finally came, signaling that they had to leave already. They would both return back to the hotel afterwards, the flower crown being placed on Paintbrush's nightstand as they both went to sleep.
