i still remember the day he moved in next door. it was a warm saturday afternoon, the kind where the sun made everything feel a bit more alive. i was lounging in my room, the window cracked open, when i heard the sound of boxes being shuffled and muffled voices outside. curiosity pulled me to the window.

that's when i saw him. sunghoon. he was helping his mom carry boxes into their new house, and i couldn't tear my eyes away. his thick, pretty eyebrows framed those striking eyes—a pretty shade of brown. the way he moved, effortlessly lifting those boxes, made it look like he was handling feathers instead of heavy cardboard.

but it wasn't just his strength that caught my attention. it was his smile, a sweet curve of his lips that lit up his entire face. i found myself entranced by the moles on his nose and cheek, adding character to his perfect features. his pale skin glowed in the sunlight, making him look almost ethereal, like he had stepped out of a dream.

i didn't realize i was staring until our eyes met. my heart skipped a beat. i quickly turned away, pretending to be engrossed in my phone, though i was anything but. out of the corner of my eye, i saw him smirk—a playful, knowing smirk that made my cheeks flush. great, i thought, just great. he probably thought i'm some kind of weirdo.

i tried to shake it off, convincing myself that it was just a passing interest. after all, i had never been one to crush easily. yet there was something captivating about him that drew me in. i caught glimpses of him over the next few days—playing basketball with friends, laughing with his mom, even just lounging on his porch. each time, it felt like my heart was doing somersaults.

sunghoon didn't just live next door; he stirred something inside me, a curiosity that was hard to ignore. i wanted to know more about him, to understand who he was beyond that striking exterior. but admitting that? that was a whole different story.

and maybe that's why it all felt so real—because he was right next door, and i was just beginning to realize how much that could change everything.
