Tick tock, tick tock. The ticking of the clock slowly filled the once-silent room. Its tedious ticking made my head ache. The musky scent of old books filled my nose as I searched the dark room for a light source. Thankfully the ticking had stopped.
"CRUNCH" shit I think I just crushed something or someone... Slowly lifting my boot off the ground and almost fainting at the sight of a pile of now crushed bones, holding in my shrieks of pure terror, I muttered a quick apology to the once-living being and quickly continued my search.
The clicking of my boots echoed throughout the room as I stumbled around looking for a solid wall. Finally, my hand touched what seemed to be a cobblestone panel slowly I began to trace my fingers around each individual stone looking for a button or a switch. Then finally I feel one that feels slightly strange. It feels a lot more worn than the other ones, slightly pressing on it I hear a slight "click" Suddenly magic stones in the ceiling all began to shower the room in their blinding golden light.
By the stars that is bright. Blinking my eyes furiously while they try to adjust to the sudden flash of light. But before I had time to recover the sound returns, it was louder "Tick tock, tick tock". Quickly covering my ears and cowering on the floor, I look up slightly and see the bones I crushed earlier and I realize that they weren't that of a magical beast no they were humans and they died here traped just like me.
The sound wouldn't stop and I knew if I wanted to get out of here I had to act fast. Quickly searching for something to drown out the sound so I could think, I found a piece of old tattered cloth which was probably the skeletons but I didn't have a choice books were falling out of shelves and I worried if I stood still I would be crushed into smithereens. Grabbing the cloth off the floor and ripping it into two pieces, I started stuffing them into my ears to try to drown out the insufferable sound.
The cloth made my ears itch but it was worth it, to not hear the ticking of that strange dastardly clock. "BONK" 'F'IN HELL THAT HURT!!!' yelling out in pain before looking at what stupid thing just smashed into my head. Laying on the ground next to me was an ancient scarlet book its cover was soft leather and it had gold corners and accents.
'So your the stupid thing that hit me' mumbling to myself before reaching to grab it, but I idiotically forgot that the room was CRUMBLING FOR STARS SAKES. Shit, quickly grabbing the book and jumping out of the way of a falling bookshelf. Barely escaping my death as a human pancake. Now I'm really starting to question why In the world I thought it would be a good idea to come here, to this damn place that everybody calls the cursed library and told the kids terrifying stories of like, you'll be cooked alive by a monster or my personal favorite you'll get sucked into a book.
Scratching my head in worry before instinctually putting my hand into my pouch and feeling a wooden stick-like item. Well, I am officially an idiot I totally forgot that I brought my wand in all the excitement of my impending doom! From now on I pledge to the stars that I will always listen to Altair the lazy idiot who told me to keep my wand in my pouch so I guess sometimes JUST SOMETIMES isn't as dumb as he looks.
Now how to get out of this place that will most likely be my grave. Looking around my eyes fall on the tall grandfather clock and I notice something strange It is missing that strange whatchamacallit you know the thing that dangles in the class case, ugh what in the world is that thing called its um a pendalo, panalum oh right its called a pendulum. Maybe just maybe if I find it the sound will stop and I can get out of here before I become a pancake.
