Author's Note: Not going to lie here. Coming up for the name of this chapter was the hardest part of it. Hope you all enjoy.

It would be a few days before the next major ghost incident would occur, and in Dani's mind the day it occurred would be one to remember.

The day started like any other in the Fenton household. Danny was sleeping away in bed after having spent a few too many hours over the night playing DOOM and Jack was doing something ghost related down in the basement. Jazz and Maddie were out doing something, Danielle wasn't sure what. And Danielle was currently sitting on the living room couch playing on her Gameboy Advance SP. Golden Sun for those interested in that.

"Come on, come on," muttered Dani, as she bit her lip as she watched the different attack animations go off, "Take him out... Take him out..." Unfortunately, Dani would never know if it would take out the boss as at that very moment the screen of her device turned off. "What," shouted Dani, as she looked at the device wide-eyed, "What happened?" She would try clicking the power button a few times but all she got was the blank screen in return.

"Drat," muttered Dani, "Battery died... At the worst time too..." Getting up, Dani would begin the walk to her charger which she had left on the kitchen table. As she entered the kitchen, she saw the basement light on and blinked a little in surprise. Was her father down in the lab? She thought he was in the OP center upstairs.

"Dad," Dani shouted, from the top of the stairs, "You down there?" She got no response. Frowning, she debated on just hitting the light switch, but decided she should check to see if anyone was down in the lab before doing that. For all she knew, her dad was just too preoccupied with his work to hear her.

Walking down the stairs, she would hear something like a fishing line being cast. "What... What is that sound," thought Dani, perplexed.

She would soon get her answer as soon as she stepped foot in the basement. She saw her dad sitting in front of the Fenton Ghost Portal with a fishing line in hand and wearing some fishing gear and novelty drink hat.

"Uh, hey Dad," said Dani, as she approached her father, "What... What are you doing?"

"Danielle," said Jack, as she put up a finger to silence his daughter, "Keep it down. You'll scare away the ghosts." Dani would inwardly laugh a little at her father. Her scaring away the ghosts was a good thing in her book. "It's the Fenton Ghost Fisher," Jack continued, as he began to reel the line back in, "I'm fishing for ghosts."

As he finished reeling the line back in, Jack would take it in his hands and explain the device to his daughter. "Check out this line," said Jack, as he tugged on the line a little, "It's coated with a special high test ectoplasmic resin that ghosts can't break. Quiet now. Don't want to spook them."

At this, Jack would cast his line back out into the portal, but it would only take a moment later for the man's stomach to rumble.

"Oh," said Jack, "That soda goes right through you like Sherman through Georgia." Handing the fishing pole to his daughter, Jack continued, "Here. Hang on to this. I'll be right back after I use the Fenton urinal." With that Jack would run out of the basement leaving Danielle alone with her thoughts.

"Sometimes Dad makes the strangest things," thought Dani, as she glanced down at the pole in her hands, "What ghost would get willingly caught being caught like a fi-" It was at this point the line got snug and taught, indicating a bite was on the hook.

"Oh no," muttered Dani, as her ghost sense went off, "What is my luck..." She would then start the process of trying to reel in what the line caught, but man whatever was on the line was heavy. Eventually the line would go lax, before a ghostly clawed hand that looked like it belonged to a giant lizard emerged from the portal.

Then a low growl would be heard as the rest of the creature stepped out revealing it was indeed a lizard ghost. A dragon. A blue dragon actually to be exact that was wearing a golden amulet with green, emerald inlay. And it was humongous. It easily took up half the room in the basement lab.

It would let out a roar, and shout, "I want to go," before creeping forward towards Dani.

"Dad," shouted Dani, as she began to run for the entrance before the dragon reached out and grabbed the girl with its blue scaly clawed hand.

"I have to go," shouted the Dragon.

"Uhhhh...," said Dani, taking a gulp, "You'll have to wait till my dad's done. But until then..." Danielle would then change to her ghost form and phase out of the Dragon's claw. This surprised the Dragon for a moment but not for long, as it tried to swipe at the ghost girl with its claws. But Dani would avoid each strike before backing up a bit. This was probably a bad call though as the Dragon then let loose a stream of green fire at the ghost girl.

Danielle was able to dodge the flames though and immediately went on the offensive before flying at the ghost and kicking them in the chest so hard they went flying back. As the dragon landed right in front of the portal, Danielle would move in closer and notice the Dragon no longer looked angry and in rage, but instead looked sad and was about to cry. A moment later, the dragon began to shrink into a young woman with green hair, blonde hair, and a blue dress.

"All I wanted was to go to the Princess Costume Ball," said the ghost, as she began to go back into the portal, "And my horrid mommy won't let me!"

A few seconds later, Dani would land in front of the portal and sigh. "If that dragon was a costume," said Dani, "I'm on her mother's side." Dani would then change back to human, and add, "Phew, that was a relief."

"I'll tell you what a relief is...," Jack said, as he reentered the room with two sodas in hand before handing them to Dani, "Darn I almost forgot!" And ran back out of the room to flush.

"Uhhh, okay dad," said Dani, as she placed the soda's down on her dad's chair and began to make her way to the stairs, "I'm just going to- oof!" Dani would let out a muffled yell of pain as she tripped on something and fell to the floor.

"What the heck," said Dani, as she looked at what she tripped on, "Really Danny... Why did you leave your backpack there of all places..." Standing back up, Dani would bend down to close the pack before picking it up and bringing it up the stairs with her.

Author's Note: Well, the first part of Parental Bonding is done. What do you think will be different in this chapter? And why do you guys think the day was so memorable for Dani? Let me know in a review if you'd like to share your thoughts. Till next time.
