Mr Puzzles sat nervously across from Oneshot Wren, a confident grin on the cowboy's face as they were given their dinner menus. Puzzles felt insanely awkward as he directed eye contact away from the cowboy. This was the first time he had ever been on an actual date and the poor TV had no clue how to handle it!

"So, anything... catching your eye?~" One shot Wren smirked at the TV who looked up at him, a faint blush on his screen.

"H-huh?"

"I mean the menu darlin'. What you thinking of ordering?" Wren chuckled as Puzzles flushed, burying his screen in the menu.

"Oh! Uhm... I'm not entirely sure. I-I don't really need to eat a lot you see so I wouldn't want to order anything too large..." Puzzles said. He then thought for a moment, "Although... I suppose I could always take home the leftovers and give them to Mario whenever I next see him..."

At the mere mention of the Italian's name, Wren flinched slightly, his right eye twitching.

"Oh... aha, yeah I guess that little guy sure does love to eat." The cowboy said through a forced grin.

After the trouble he had caused for Wren the last time they met, Wren had reeaalllyyyy wanted to avoid thinking about the Italian here. Instead, wanting to solely focus on the TV in front of him.

"Ahem, so do you know what you're gonna order?" Wren asked.

Puzzles thought for a moment before shutting his menu and placing it on the table.

"I think I'll try the spaghetti." He smiled.

Wren was motionless for a split second before nodding, looking over his own menu.

He's getting an Italian dish...

Deciding to ignore the implications of this, Wren smiled at the TV. "I guess I'll be having the steak then." He grinned.

The couple placed their orders and as they were waiting, they made pleasant conversation.

"So tell me, how was your day today?" Wren charmingly smiled, pouring Puzzles a glass of water.

"O-oh, well it was fairly uneventful. I was able to do some more work on my Puzzlevision scripts...?"

"Really now? Well that sounds interesting." Wren said.

"Y-yes I suppose... in all honesty though, I spent most of the day getting ready for tonight. I've never actually been on a date before. Not a real one at least..." Mr Puzzles mumbled the last bit however Wren still heard it.

" 'Not a real one,'?" Wren asked, curiously. "What do you mean by that?"

"Oh, it doesn't really matter. Mario just asked me to be his fake date a few months ago so he could spy on SMG3 and SMG4. Something and nothing I assure you." Puzzles explained, shooing away conversation of his and Mario's fake date with a faint smile on his screen.

To think... that had been the thing that set it all off. If Mario hadn't begged him to come along on the date then he never would have been able to experience all of this. Going to the pool party, running into Mario and the others at the bar, even his date with Wren! Somehow, bumping into this stupid little Italian one day had now snowballed into a new life for Puzzles. He had friends. He wasn't alone. He had people interested in him! And he had Mario to thank for all of it.

Wren was quiet again once he heard about the fake date. He then plastered on a smile and looked at the TV. Despite not even being here, Mario kept finding ways to worm himself into the conversation.

"Aha... anyway, you said you spent most of the day getting ready then?" Wren asked, trying to steer the conversation away from Mario.

"Well, yes I did..." Puzzles sheepishly admitted, a small blush on his screen.
