'I just sit here, waiting for you to call,
And then I wonder, if you're even calling at all
So many thoughts in my mind
Wishing you could be here all the time
Cause I'm lost without you
And I can't just doubt you
And it's everything about you
I just can't live without you'
I strummed my guitar and sang softly in my room. It was always like this, I'd come up here every day, and sing my heart out, watching the view from the window. My mom gave up on me and sent me to stay with Ryan, thinking it may take my mind off things. But it didn't. I needed work; I needed it to take my mind of things, to keep myself busy, from thinking about her.
"Dude, I thought you'd stop doing that" Ryan said coming in and sitting beside me.
"Sorry" I said and put my guitar aside. He sighed and patted my back.
"You need to forget about her, Justin! She's not worth it!" He said his voice filled with concern.
"I can't" I whispered, my voice barely audible.
"You can, Justin. You have to! You need to get out of this, and quick!" he said getting up and pulling me with him "Now, come on"
"Where?" I asked.
"There's a sick party down the beach, we can go and have some fun. You could use a little" he said as I got up.
"No, you go, have fun"
"No! You're coming with me! End of discussion" I sighed as he pulled me to the door.

*Mean while*
"Morning dad" I said and kissed his cheek. He was in his usual position, on the dining table, reading his news paper and drinking his extra caffeine coffee with no sugar. He nodded and smiled in return. It's always been like this, since mom passed away, I mean. We never talk about anything other than work.
You see, my dad is a really famous magazine editor. Sometimes he sends me on missions to get information about teen-celebrities. It gets annoying after a while, but that's the only thing I can do. I don't have a choice.
"You ready to go?" He asked as he took a last sip of his coffee, I nodded and grabbed my backpack and headed for the door.
-------------------------------------------------
I got into my small office as everyone looked at me, everyone here is sort-off scared off me. They think dad hired me to spy on them. They think I might spill the beans or something. I only have one friend here, Claire.
She's the only one who had enough balls to come and talk to me.
"Morning, Rache" She said coming in, her perky little voice echoing through the small office walls.
"Morning" I smiled and pulled some papers out of my drawer.
"What are you working on?" She asked.
"I don't know" I shrugged as she gave me a confused look "He still didn't give me anything to work on, but he did say he has something important for me, and I'll know what it is in a few days" I said, confusion filling my voice.
"What do you think it is?" she asked, her smile turning to a frown. You may ask why both of us are so worried.
Since mom's death, dad hasn't been himself. He gets angry easily, there's no way in hell you can talk to him. There's nothing called having a discussion, you do what you're told and you have the right to do nothing about it. In other words, you just shut-up and listen...
"I don't know, but it's not gonna be good" I sighed and looked beside me to see Drake coming out of his office. You see, Drake is the new hottie in the office; he's really young too, only 19 years old. He's every girls dream guy, blue eyes, perfect curly hair, kind of like Orlando Blooms hair style, six packs. See? Perfect. This also happens to be Clair's idea of perfect. Not mine though.
I mean he's hot and all, but he's the kind of guy I want. I laughed and rolled my eyes as I watched Claire drool as he walked by.
"Man up" I said and smacked her head.
"Well, you'd do the same if you found a hot guy walk by" She snapped, coming back to earth.
"Nope, there's something called controlling myself, you should try it" I said and laughed as she rolled her eyes and did the same.
