(Playlist composed of songs I listened to while writing and reading the book!)
'Shit Shit Shit' I thought to myself as I contemplated rolling off the bed before my alarm even went off.
You may ask, Why such annoyance so early in the morning? That's because I woke up with a smile on my face and a 'Good Morning :)' from the one and only Golden Boy.
I read it, but I ALSO SMILED AFTER READING IT?
My head is spinning so fast it may just fall off. Am I being dramatic? Maybe. Not the point though.
What a way to start my morning before my first day of work. It would be rude to not send a text back...
'NO' The logical part of my brain yells, 'YES' The maybe not so logical yells as well. Just louder..
'Good Morning to you as well :)' My fingers type and send to him before my wits can really weigh out the situation. I never said I was a smart person or someone who listened to rules.
I begrudgingly rolled out of bed and walked to my closet. If there is one thing I can do right is style a good outfit for this first day of work. Somehow this was more stomach turning than a first day of school outfit.
As I was going through my clothes I caught myself thinking if Ash would like something or if he would feel butterflies if he saw me at his Grandmother's shop today.
I shook my head, baffled at myself for thinking such thoughts.
I grabbed my outfit and did my morning routine, Contemplating bashing my head against the shower wall as my brain wandered to a few nights ago to the beach and thinking about how Ash opened himself up to me so gracefully and gently. Vulnerability that at this age most have lost. He was truly one of a kind and somehow I was graced with meeting and knowing him.
Then my brain went to what Seth said 'I messed up, but he did too' I know Ryker told me that Ash was telling the truth and I believe that. I was also nosy and wanted to hear Seth's side as well.
I shook my head trying to rid myself of the thoughts and enjoy the shower.
Once everything was done I waved my hair and curled some pieces to give that beachy look. Curse you straight hair for being boring sometimes.
I looked in the mirror and took a deep breath.
'Everything works out the way it needs to' I say to myself and turn on the heels of my feet and walk to the kitchen. It's quiet.. Too quiet. I call out for my grandparents before realizing there is a note stuck to the fridge
'Have a good first day of work, We are going to be a few towns over tonight and tomorrow for a farmers market. Be smart and Be safe. - Love Grandma and Grandpa'
Hmm.. they trust me to be alone, That's a first. Not like I had much bad to get into anyways.
I grab a granola bar and fill my water bottle before I go out on my bike and start the short ride to the little bookstore.
I arrive at the bookstore a little early but decide to go in anyways so I can get situated and look around a bit.
I walk in and I'm instantly hit by the smell of coffee and freshly baked goods, A tinge of old paper cutting through the air as well. This has to be the most comforting smell known to man.
I'm greeted by Zaria who's looks still leave me a bit starstruck when I see her.
"Wren! I'm so glad you're here, I've had a stick in my side stabbing me for the past hour asking when you would be here" She says jokingly glaring to the side where a baffled looking Ash stands almost looking nervous before he sneers out
