Curtain opens at a bar that is electric, the air pulsating with the rhythmic beat of the music. Couples swayed together on the dance floor, lost in the moment. The crowd was a sea of movement, a kaleidoscope of colors and energy.
Nao a part-time bartender polished a glass with flair, his hands moving in sync with the lively music.
Then, like a magnet drawing attention, Karis walked in. His presence was like a whispered secret, his confident stride commanding attention. The room seemed to vibrate with his energy, as if the very air molecules shifted to accommodate him.
Heads turned, eyes locking onto his chiseled features, his dark hair perfectly styled, his piercing gaze scanning the room. The crowd parted like a curtain, revealing a path to the bar.
Nao, mesmerized by the sudden commotion, watched as Karis approached him. Their eyes met, Nao felt a connection like a spark of electricity, crackling with tension.
The music seemed to fade into the background as Karis took a seat at the bar, his eyes never leaving Nao's face. "Whiskey sour, please," he said, his deep voice sending shivers down Nao's spine.
Nao's gaze lingered on Karis's face, his mind wandering to imaginary scenarios. He pictured Karis smile, his laughter, and his eyes sparkling with joy. The noise of the bar faded into the background as Nao's daydream took center stage.
Suddenly, a knock on the bar table snapped Nao back to reality. He blinked, his eyes focusing on Karis expression.
"Hey, bartender!" Karis said, "I asked for a whiskey sour, remember?"
Nao hastily mixed the drink, his hands shaking slightly. "R-right, sorry about that!"
"No worries, I'm used to being the center of attention." Karis boasted,as he accepted the drink.
As the night wore on, Nao found himself glancing at Karis more often than he cared to admit. Karis, engrossed in his phone, seemed oblivious to Nao's gaze. Nao tried to focus on his work, serving drinks and exchanging pleasantries with the regulars, but his eyes kept drifting back to Karis.
Karis's profile was chiseled, his features sharp and defined, his dark hair falling across his forehead in a subtle swoop. His eyes, though fixed on his phone, sparkled with intensity, as if the screen held the secrets of the universe.
Just as Nao was getting lost in his daydream,Karis looked up, catching him staring. Their eyes met, Nao quickly look away focusing back at the other customers.
Karis feeling uncomfortable from Nao gaze without a word, he slid out of his seat, his movements swift and decisive. He tossed a few bills on the counter, his eyes avoiding Nao's as he paid for his drink.
"Keep the change," Karis said curtly, his voice low and even.
As the door swung shut, Nao's gaze dropped to the counter, his eyes tracing the path where Karis's hands had rested. He felt a pang of longing, wondering if he'd ever see him again.
The bar seemed quieter now, the music and laughter fading into the background as Nao's thoughts consumed him. He mechanically served the remaining customers, his mind a thousand miles away.
Just as Nao was about closing for the night, he was arranging his belongings to head out, when he heard the door swung open..."We're close for the night please" Nao shouted.
He lifted his head to see who had walked in and to his shock it's Karis, their eyes met, and Nao's heart skipped a beat."I forgot my phone,"Karis said gruffly, his eyes scanning the counter before locking onto Nao's.
Nao's face flushed as he handed Karis his phone, "Here is your phone". Karis snatched his phone from him and head out to the bar exit door.
