PRE-WAR CHAPTER 1: Ascend from Darkness

It's only been a few minutes since Mountain Glenn was liberated as Jaune's new army was now in the air with civilians inside admiring the interior of Retribution, an airship carrier containing aircraft, land & sea vehicles, as well as soldiers carrying a variety of ballistic, energy, and blaster/plasma guns but mainly ballistics. In contrast, the others are rarely seen on one guy or two, but primarily ballistic firearms nonetheless. The ship even has a mess hall and an armory where they can select load-outs of any weapon they can choose from, whether a sidearm, an assault rifle, etc. The bridge is where the ship gets controlled, plans are made, and a personal quarter for the ship's captain.  From there, we see Ace, Cole, and a multitude of clones in their respective posts.

Ace: "We're trying to triangulate the location Jaune is at."

Cole: "How long til we find it?"

Ace: "We don't know.  That portal they entered is messing with our tracking beacon, and we can't figure it out.  But we'll do our best."

Cole nodded and looked behind him to the outside view as he stepped between three consoles where three Arc clones were on to see clouds below him. They are currently 15,000 feet above the clouds, with defenses at an all-time high for any Grimm looking to cause trouble. Few Nevermores were able to catch up to them, but they would get fucked up by their defenses with jets flying overhead, conducting patrols.

Arc Clone 1: "Unbelievable isn't it?"

Cole: "If only Jaune would've seen this."

Arc Clone 1: "He'd be going nuts."

Cole chuckles and leans on one of the consoles to admire the view.

Meanwhile, Land of Darkness, Jaune's POV:

Jaune was stirring awake from his consciousness after that stomp, and he was taken by one of Salem's goons. After waking up, he finds himself in an unfamiliar room.

Jaune groans after fully waking, "(What happened? Where am I?)"

He looks around to see his outfit and weapons on the table to his right, with his outfit on some display in a dummy.  He looks over to his left and sees an IV bag and some machines. After looking at himself, he finds himself bound on a platform, stripped down to his underwear. He manages to get his left arm free and starts taking out all the medical stuff off of him before breaking his binds, making him fall off the platform and onto the ground on his stomach.  After getting up, he looks around even more to see tables, machines, and a giant window overlooking the outside view.  After looking out the window, he sees an entire forest with Grimm EVERYWHERE.  And I mean everywhere with Beowolves, Ursai, and Nevermores in constant sight.

Jaune: "(What is this place? Who lives like this?)"

He looks over to the door as he hears faint footsteps outside.  He then runs for his gear, and upon grabbing it, he reaches out his right arm and sees something he couldn't believe.  He finds himself with an entirely different arm of what used to be a Grimm. But humanized, but then it hits him.  He remembers that after the Battle of Mountain Glenn, he lost his original arm from a Grimm he managed to kill after having his Battle Rifle jammed. Still, his arm was chewed off thoroughly, leaving half an arm intact; it seems that Salem took the rest of it off before placing an entirely new arm in, replacing it. Upon inspection, the door automatically opens to have two unknown mercenaries walking in.  After seeing Jaune awake, their weapons were immediately drawn towards Jaune. But with no warning whatsoever, something speeds right out of Jaune's back and hits one of them in the gut while being launched back outside the room before the second one hurries out, not expecting it at all. Jaune looks behind him to see a tentacle retracting back in his back while staring at the now-dead mercenary and the tentacle he spawned out from his back.
