Chapter one

Jazzy is, well, a disappointment in her mom's eyes. her twin sisters were the exact opposite, however.. they were angels in mommy's eyes. jazzy walked out of her loud, soundproof house, their mother yelling profanities at them and nit-picking about her attire, currently in pj pants and a sports bra- walking bare foot.. "PUT SOME GODDAMN CLOTHES ON!!" She screamed. Jazzy strolled on over ignorantly to check the mail. Then there was Tobias Rogers. His father is an equally shitty person. Currently, the boy sat on a curb, anxiously bouncing a knee. He had just lost his sister in the recent car accident. He wasn't doing so well.. Toby had just gotten back from the hospital, bandages wrapped losely on his left forearm. Jazzy waved politely and smiled as she suddenly dodged a vase flying at her head, the vase shattered beneath her feet, crashing on the ground in front of her. "..fucking hell, mom- hey kid, you alright?? you look traumatized -" Jazzy was the first to speak. Toby looked up at the strange girl before him, tilting his head before responding, "'m fine."

Jazzy took that invitation to sit next to him. "You sure..?- my guy, you're sitting on a curb at 6 30 am -" her voice suddenly had been cut off by a u-haul moving van, driving by.  It seemed to stop at a house at the end of the coldasack. jazzy crossed her arms. "Hot damn they sold that house all ready. I thought that was an empty threat.. cause I kinda.. beat up their offspring.." Jazzy shrugs nonchalantly, facing Toby, who was also looking at the van. His jaw popped as he spoke.  "Mm.. the f-fuck?-" he Turing to the all-knowing jazzy who seemed to look like she knew what was happening

"Oh, you didn't hear? I kicked the Garcia's oldest's ass, they moved out, sold the house pretty damn quickly - hmm.. wonder who's moving in" then from the open door she heard a high pitch, bitchy, whiny voice. "JAZZABLE HAIL ROSE GET YOUR ASS IN THIS HOUSE NOW!!!!"

Toby watched wide eyed. "Yeesh.. you got alot on your p-plate" his jaw cracked again as he spoke. Suddenly he abruptly stood up, anxiously wanting to go back inside and self isolate.. as usual. "Shit- fuc- n'gotta go.. seeya.." he turned away, shuffling back inside, a twitchy mess. His tics seemed to have suddenly skyrocketed. He didn't want her seeing that.. it was 'disgusting' others told him.

Jazzy stayed, waiting, watching, Listening. A mew could be heard from somewhere nearby, suddenly a black cat pranced out, jumping onto jazzy's shoulder, settling there.

"Oh hello! What's your name, kitty?" Jazzy gently rubbed the cat's ears. She purred in delight. Jazzy gently held the cat, checking the gender "a girll! Hmmm.. I think I'll call you Coral!"

Then that whiny voice screeched again. "JAZZABELL I MEAN IT!! GET YOUR ASS INSIDE NOW! DONT MAKE ME ASK AGAIN!"

Jazzy flipped her off, walking down the street to the nearby skate park. It was her safe place.. kinda-

Hours later Jazzy had finally walked back home. Her mother not bothering to unlock the door. Jazzy angrily kicked the door in, making the 6th dent in it this week. "FUCK" She screamed, her finger split open from the chipped wood. Coral, her new cat, ran up to her room as if.. she knew where it was.

Later

Toby slept for most of the day. Soon, he had woken up at about 5 pm, walked downstairs, nearly slipping. He gripped onto the railing to save himself, muttering curses of frustration under his breath.

He made himself some toast, but, outside of his double door windows, he peered out only to see Jazzy, that girl from earlier, leaning on her mailbox, sketching something in her notebook.

a small black cat jumped onto the windowsill, scaring Toby and making him fall.

coral mews at him then jumps back down and walks to jazzy prompting toby to walk outside as well. Toby quickly finished his toast, stepping outside, groaning at the sunset in his eyes. jazzy continues to draw a bloody scene in her book. as Toby reaches for the door, he hears his dad stomping heavily and drunkenly down stairs. Toby quickly escaped,  running out. He sighed in relief, shutting the door, screaming through the window for his father to hear

"DIRTBAG!!" he insulted. Toby shuffled down the steps and went to Jazzy. "h-h-hey!" Toby stuttered,

Jazzy replied without looking, already knowing who it was just by the sounds of his jaw popping."Oh hey zombie dude," Jazzy says,

Jeffery woods, the neighborhoods new creep, suddenly gets shoved outside by his mother "Go outside for once, Jeffery, you might just enjoy it!!" His mother told him in her fake, sickly sweet, motherly tone. Liu yelled from his room, "Touch grass, bro! It won't hurt ya!" Jeffery groaned as he pulled his hood up, pulling the strings and walked over silently, waiting to be 'noticed' or whatever- he really didn't want to do this...

Toby replied to jazzy, telling her his name "m'names Toby,"

Jazzy smiled

"Oh! finally got your name now, do I? well Toby, whatca need" jazzy asked with curiosity, walking up quietly, and Toby was honest.

"I just d-dont wanna be home r-right n-now."

Toby tics and twitches, not noticing jeff at first "same here -"

And then he noticed

"Hmmm.. hey, who are you?" Jazzy looked over to jeff  who had his hands in his pockets. Toby spoke again. "y-you're the new kid who just moved in, right?" Toby prodded, looking at him with a wide grin, trying to be friendly, but he came off kinda.. off-putting. Jeff didn't mind it.

Jazzy pointed her finger with a friendly smile. "Yeahhh, yeah! you are! I watched you move in yesterday!!" jazzys says, getting excited."Yeah...my,.. Family decided to move here.." Jeffery mumbled timidly and rather coldly.

"Soooo.." Jazzy began,  "you move to the road of shitty family or do you have a good family cause if so, adopt me"

Suddenly, a vase flew out the window of jazzy's kitchen, crashing and breaking next to them

"Case in point.." Jazzy says flatly.

"They are.. fine... they care more about their public image than anything.. look better on the outside." Jeff sighed in annoyance

"Not on the inside?" Toby finished Jeff's sentence with an understanding look.

"Yeah.." jeff muttered, shuffling his feet a bit as he shoved his hands into his pants's pockets. He seemed a bit shy.

"I've been there done that - actually still doing that.."  jazzy replied as coral rubbed up on Jeff's legs before prancing over to jazzy laying on her lap.

An idea suddenly popped into Jazzy's head

"wanna ditch our shitty family issues for some booze and the skate park? I stole my mom's card. " Jazzy proudly held up there mom's mx black card and there roller blades that were sitting next to them

Toby pondered before agreeing

"Sure beats hanging out with my shitty dad.. watching him drink all the fuckin' time makes me physically sick.. i drink a bit but nowhere near as much.. f-fucking hell." Toby says, looking back at his house with a face of disgust.

Jeffery thought for a moment.. he could use some social interaction.  It'll finally make his mother shut her trap about him being a hermit all the time.

"s-sure, but can my brother liu come?" jeff stutters

Jazzy nodded. "Sure!, go get him and meet us at the end of the coldasack."

jazzy smiled as jeff ran back to his house to get his brother. What a nice boy.. kinda cute too..  jazzy hid her blush as her and toby stroll on to the end of the street waiting for them and chatting while coral, the black cat, followed jeff.
