It was horrible.
All Liy could remember before being sucked into the EXIT was her angry shouting and complaining.
But who on earth was she even complaining to?
Death PACT? the viewers? Four and X?
Either way, a year had passed since BFB came to a forced end, and her grudge against her former teammates still burned with a passion.
But if the Inertia never happened, she never would have escaped the EXIT.
It's not like the virus is a good thing, though. She hadn't slept since they got to Yoyleland almost three weeks ago. It was almost crazy how much she just wanted to jump off a bridge and die at this point.
She was on lookout duty for the few survivors settled in the abandoned Yoyle City. Nothing, as usual, but she had a feeling something was going to happen. Another adventure, maybe, but to be honest, this was the first time in a while Liy didn't feel like it.
Guess curiosity doesn't turn off a light switch after all.
She strolled through the abandoned streets, the smell of silent horror filling the air as she walked. She made sure to time her footsteps perfectly in case anyone noticed the off sound. They'd been hiding for weeks and the infecteds knew nothing, and they couldn't know anything. The EXITors had to lay low.
She clutched a crowbar in her left hand. Stapy found it on a lookout run before Four got to him. It was the only real weapon they had, not counting Bracelety's TEAM ICE CUBE sign. Nobody could make one, and nobody had time to learn. She knew it couldn't fend off an infected Algebralien, but for a contestant, it could buy her some time.
The soft, yet audible breeze completely silenced for a moment. Liy halted. This was a sign something drew near.
A door in a nearby building creaked, and she saw two ichor-black eyes staring back at her, marked with the blue number four, from a second storey window.
The Existence.
The objects possessed by the will of the Existence could bend and warp reality, to an extent. There's no way to fight them.
She took a slow step back, the figure also doing so. This wasn't good.
She held up the crowbar. She didn't know why. Maybe to scare them, maybe to show she wanted to fight? She had no clue at this point.
The figure stepped back again.
Suddenly, they dove through the window, glass shattering and falling everywhere. She jumped out of range and began sprinting back to their 'home base', the ENTRANCE, as they called it. Maybe to contradict their trauma of being stuck in that awful place for countless years.
She couldn't be found. What would Four even do with her?! Lock her up in the EXIT and leave her to die? Turn her into one of those mindless zombies?! Force her to spill on where her fellow EXITors were hiding?!
She didn't even see who it was. She didn't want to know. She focused on sharp, quick turns and windings streets until she saw the abandoned building.
She looked behind her. She'd lost her tail, luckily. She stopped and caught her breath, and noticed she was in front of the ENTRANCE. How convenient.
She opened the door slowly and closed it again quietly. The others looked up.
"Ice Cube?!" Bracelety excitedly exclaimed
"No, it's just Liy. What'd you find?" Pencil asked, standing up.
The aforementioned light switch exhaled "We've got company. We need to get out of Yoyleland."
The room was silent.
"And why do you think we should, like, do that?" Match questioned, standing and casually strolling over to Pencil's side.
"I don't have a favourite number, but I agree with Liy." 8-Ball stated "We probably should leave Yoyleland if there's other people here."
"We're leaving already?!" Firey Jr. chimed in "It hasn't even been a month!"
Everyone was silent.
"Right."
Liy sighed "We need to leave now. It'll take months to get back to Goiky."
And so they did.
As she left the building, she tore off the ENTRANCE sign and let it fall to the floor, before joining the small crowd of her fellow EXITors.
