After leaving Estrella Espresso, you're walking toward campus, the note from earlier still tucked safely in your bag. The sun is higher now, warming the pavement as you make your way through the streets with your friends. Mualani walks beside you, her arms swinging casually, while Citlali, and Chasca follow a little behind, the air between you filled with easy chatter. You keep glancing at your bag, the curiosity gnawing at you, but you still haven't looked at the note. Not yet.

Mualani nudges you playfully. "So... any plans to open that little surprise, or are you gonna wait till class starts?"

You laugh, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. "I'll wait... Maybe. I mean, what if it's something important?" You try to play it cool, but you can't help the small grin creeping onto your face.

Citlali, ever the skeptic, rolls her eyes. "It's probably just a receipt or something. You're getting all worked up over nothing."

Chasca, quietly smiling, adds, "You never know. It could be more interesting than that."
The anticipation keeps building as you walk, wondering if the note will change your day—or if it's just a small, simple mystery that will soon be solved.

Class hadn't started yet, so the four of you head to the library, finding a quiet corner to settle down. The cozy silence of the room is broken only by the soft rustling of papers and the occasional cough from other students studying nearby.

You take a seat at one of the large wooden tables, your friends gathering around with eager expressions. Mualani rests her chin in her hand, eyes twinkling with anticipation, while Citlali leans back in her chair, arms crossed, pretending not to be as curious as she actually is. Chasca sits beside you, calm but clearly intrigued.

"All right," you say, your heart racing a little faster now. You pull out the folded paper from your bag and place it on the table. "Moment of truth."

Mualani grins. "Finally! Let's see what's inside."

With a deep breath, you carefully unfold the delicate paper, feeling the weight of everyone's attention. The excitement in the air is almost tangible as your eyes skim over the contents, heart fluttering. But as you look closer, the words slowly make sense.

Espresso, hot... Cappuccino... Latte... Cappuccino.

The neatly printed list is familiar, almost disappointingly so. You glance over at Mualani's cappuccino, Citlali's latte, and Chasca's identical order. It's as if your mind is trying to make sense of it all. Your eyes trail down the paper, but there's nothing else—just the same list of drinks.

It takes a moment to sink in.

Mualani tilts her head, noticing the small furrow in your brow. "Well? What's it say?

You hesitate for a beat longer, holding the paper up slightly, the truth slowly dawning on you. "Uh... it's our orders. It's a... receipt."

A beat of silence, then Mualani bursts into laughter. Citlali stifles a snort, leaning in excitedly but quietly. "Told you I was right! I'm a fortune teller!!"

Chasca's quiet giggle escapes, the playful energy making the moment lighter despite the anticlimax.

Mualani gives you a playful nudge, still grinning. "Don't worry, maybe next time you'll get an actual note."

Citlali, trying to comfort you in her own way, shrugs. "He's just a short emo boy, nothing special."

Chasca, with a small smile, adds quietly, "Like Xiao—"

"GUYS, STOP!" you blurt out, cheeks flushing as they all burst into laughter. "Plus, he's quite tall, ok? He's not short! He's at least 169cm!!"

"169," Mualani teases suggestively, raising her brows. Citlali and Chasca burst into laughter, but Citlali quickly snaps in a hushed tone, "Shhh, bitch, we're in the library!"

The girls stifle their giggles, though Mualani can't resist a smirk.

Chasca leans in, curious. "Wait—are you saying the guy at the cafe is 169cm? How are you so sure?"

You pause, realizing you might have jumped to conclusions. "Um, I mean... I just guessed? He seemed tall enough compared to me."

Mualani smirks, clearly enjoying the moment. "So, you're saying you were checking him out?"

You shoot her a playful glare. "No! I just noticed, okay?"

Citlali, crossing her arms with a teasing grin, adds, "You sure do seem interested. Maybe you should go back to the cafe and ask him for his height!"

"Shut up!" you laugh, your cheeks still warm from embarrassment.

Chasca, still giggling softly, suggests, "How about we measure him next time? We can bring a tape measure."

Mualani nods enthusiastically. "Now that's a plan! Just think, you might end up with a cute story to tell!"

You blush, feeling a mix of embarrassment and amusement. "Huh? Measure him where?"

Mualani bursts into laughter, while Citlali smirks knowingly. "I mean, we could always do it at the cafe, right?" she teases, leaning back in her chair with a playful grin.

Chasca giggles, adding, "Or we could sneak up behind him and just... casually pull out a tape measure."

"Okay, okay, stop!" you protest, laughter bubbling up despite your embarrassment. "I can't just go up to him and say, 'Excuse me, can we measure your height for fun?'"

Mualani winks at you. "You'd be surprised at how easily a cute boy might go along with that. Especially if you ask him with those puppy eyes."

Your heart races at the thought, and you can't help but roll your eyes, trying to hide your smile. "You guys are impossible!"

"Or we could measure his d—" Chasca suggests playfully, raising an eyebrow and winking at you.

You sputter, nearly choking on your laughter. "Chasca! No!"

The three of you erupt into giggles, but the laughter is short-lived as the librarian shoots a stern look from across the room. "Shhh! Can you keep it down, please?" she hisses, clearly annoyed.

You all exchange sheepish glances, trying to suppress your giggles. "Okay, okay!" you whisper back, covering your mouth with your hand. Once the librarian turns her back, you all burst into quiet laughter again, your earlier conversation lingering in the air as you struggle to keep it down.

Mualani leans in closer, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I can't believe you were blushing over a guy you just met! What's next? Are you going to write him a love letter?"

Citlali rolls her eyes but can't help the smirk that creeps onto her face. "Please, like he'd even read it. He's probably too busy perfecting his cappuccino skills," she teases, nudging you playfully.

Chasca giggles softly, adding, "You should just ask him about the receipt next time. Maybe it's a secret code!"

You shake your head, trying to fight off the blush that's creeping back. "Guys, it's not that serious. Besides, he probably doesn't even remember me."

Just then, you glance back to where the figure had been standing, but he's already gone. The realization hits you, and your heart sinks a little. Was that really him?

"Stop daydreaming!" Mualani nudges you again, pulling you back into the moment. "You'll never know unless you try!"
With that encouragement echoing in your mind, you can't help but wonder if you'll run into him again.

As you all settle back into your seats, the chatter in the library begins to fade into a comforting background hum. Your mind drifts, replaying the moment you caught a glimpse of the mysterious figure. You shake your head to clear your thoughts, trying to focus on your friends.

"Okay, okay," you say, trying to shift the mood. "What's on the agenda for today's class?"

Citlali leans back in her chair, arms crossed with an eye roll. "You mean aside from obsessing over cute guys? We actually have a project to finish."

Mualani raises an eyebrow, her tone teasing. "You're just jealous because I'm the one who gets to work with all the cool stuff. Plus, we're not even in the same class, Kit-Kat! Besides, who cares about schoolwork when there's love in the air?"

Chasca, usually quiet, chuckles softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Let's focus. We need to make sure our project doesn't turn into a disaster."

You can't help but smile at the playful banter, though your heart is still racing from the unexpected encounter. With your friends around you, the lingering nerves slowly fade away, and you pull out your notebook, trying to shift your focus to the assignment.

Suddenly, Citlali leans over and whispers, "Hey, what if we all hang out at that café after class? You could get a second chance at your 'mystery guy' moment."

Your heart skips at the thought, but you quickly shoot her down. "What if he's not even working today?"

Mualani nudges you again, a conspiratorial grin on her face. "Then we'll just have to find another excuse to go! Maybe for some studying?"

You can't help but laugh at their antics, but inside, the idea of seeing him again is both thrilling and terrifying. As the conversation shifts back to project details, you can't shake the feeling that today might just hold a bit of unexpected magic after all.

A soothing, quiet voice calls out to Mualani, prompting you to turn and look behind. Your eyes widen in surprise as a figure steps into view, and your heart races. The world around you fades away, leaving only this moment suspended in time, the weight of uncertainty heavy in the air.
