You didn't know quite what it was about conventions, but you absolutely loved the way Jensen would glow at them. It could be the fans or the family he had created with them, but he just seemed to change. And you loved that.
"You ready for tonight?" Genevieve asked with Shep in her Arms.
"He said he has a big night planned with tons of different surprised but he has photos and autographs tonight and you know these fans are not going to let him skip it." You looked at her and smiled before turning back to the crowd to hear the next question being asked."Jared, Jensen, we all know that you two are best friends and do everything together, bur Jared, how did it feel when Jensen started dating his own 'Jen'?" The crowd busted into laughter and the boys turned to each other and smiled.
"It definitely doesn't make planning things easy..." Jared answered.
"Hey, Jen wants to go to dinner," Jensen mimicked their conversations.
"Well Gen likes Italian." Jared retorted.
"Eh, Jen feel more like Chinese tonight," Jensen laughed.
"What?" Jared play confused.
"See, it makes things harder to plan, but it's definitely worth it." Jensen look up and found you in the back and winked.
"And, today is a very special day. It's Jen's birthday." Jared smiled as the fans cheered.
"My Jen. Not his." Jensen got defensive.
The crowd cheered for you and broke out into a round of 'Happy Birthday' as Cliff walked up to you and escorted you to the stage. The crowd cheered louder when you got to the top of the stage and Jensen gave you a big kiss in front of everyone.
"Happy birthday, babygirl," He whispered in your ear, making you blush. Someone from backstage brought up a chair so that you could sit down in between Jensen and Jared. Once the crowd calmed down, Jared motioned for the next person in line to speak.
"So, my question was going to be for Jensen, but I'd rather ask Jen. What's it like dating Jensen Ackles?" She giggled and hid her face a little in nervousness. You laughed with her as Jensen handed you his microphone.
"Well, it's definitely crazy. But it's a good crazy. These past two years have been amazing and he is such a good guy and we have all of you supporting us which is incredible. I couldn't be happier than where I am right now." You smiled wide and looked at your man. He was grinning wide back at you and you felt Jared place a hand on your shoulder in support as well. The next girl got up to the front and cleared her throat.
"My question is for Jen, too." You nodded for her to continue. "Do you have any plans to join the boys in the cast this next season? We'd love to see you on the screen." The crowd erupted again.
"I've definitely thought about what it would be like to officially be a part of this family but unfortunately that's beyond my call. But, you guys keep sending in your letters to the writers and I'm sure we can bug them enough to write me in." You smiled.
"This question is for Jensen." A younger man walked up to the stand. "My girlfriend's birthday is coming up soon and I just want to know what you do for Jen so that I can know what to do for my girl." Jensen took the mic from you.
"Well, I can't say it out loud since she doesn't know what we're doing yet, but I'll talk to you after the panel." Jensen smiled at the fan then turned to wink at you.
You sat in the hotel room that you and Jensen shared. The clock was slowly reaching 11 oclock at night and you were getting tired. Jensen was down with the fans, still signing autographs and taking pictures, just like you predicted he would be. You were getting ready to call it a night when you heard a knock at your door.
"Cliff?" You asked opening the door.
"Here you go sweetheart," He smiled, handing your favorite cup of coffee.
"You do realize that its getting close to my bedtime right?" You teased but gladly accepted.
"It's not from me. Jensen wanted to make sure that you were still awake for the festivities he has planned. This is from me." He smiled handing you a small box. You set your coffee down and grabbed the package with a giant smile. You ripped the paper off to reveal a sparkly picture frame with a picture of you and Cliff backstage one day when you went to visit Jensen.
"Oh my god, I love it! It's perfect. Now I'll always have my Cliff at my side. Thank you." You grabbed him in a hug and he hugged you back.
"Anything for you sweetheart. Now get dressed. J said he would be another 30 minutes then he'd call it and come get you. Bring a sweatshirt." He smiled and closed the door.
Thirty minutes later, you were laying on your bed, jeans and sweatshirt on, finishing the last of your coffee. Your hotel room door slowly opened and you looked up to meet the bright green eyes that were excited to meet you.
"Hey, baby, I'm glad you're still awake." He smiled and walked up to you to give you a hug and a long kiss. "God I've wanted to do that all day." He smiles.
"J, it's almost midnight. What on earth are we going to go to at midnight?" You asked sitting back on the bed as he rushed to change his clothes.
"You'll have to wait and see. But I promise it'll be worth it." He smiled, walking back into the room from the bathroom all changed. "Ready?"
Cliff had let the two of you take the car by yourselves to give you some more privacy. On the ride, J told stories of the fans he had met once you left for the room. He was smiling wide and laughing at the funny things that happened.
"Where are we going?" You finally asked.
"Not telling. Anyway, we're almost there." He reached for your hand and laced his fingers in yours. He turned into a dark business and turned off the engine.
"Um, J, it's closed." You stated, looking confused. He just smiled and got out of the car. He walked to the front door and waited for you to meet him there. He then pulled out a key and put it in the door.
"It's not closed anymore." He smiled and opened the door. You walked in hesitantly and felt him follow. He then reached to the wall and turned on a light to reveal where he had taken you.
"No freaking way," You said with your mouth open in aw.
"Yup. I talked the manager into giving me the keys for the night. It helps when his daughter is a huge fan." He smiled.
"I can't remember the last time I've been to one of these." You walked down the aisles.
"Your dad told me how much you loved coming to these when you were little and I figured I could bring you back." He followed.
"I absolutely love shooting ranges."
"I've heard you're pretty good too."
"Let me show you."
You picked out your gun and got your ammo ready then headed with Jensen out to the range.
"Don't you try to go easy on me, Ackles. I want to see if being a Winchester for ten years has given you any talent with a gun." You winked and narrowed your aim at the target. Shot after shot was fired until the ammo you had was gone. Once the lane was clear, Jensen took your hand and walked down the row to look at your shots.
"Looks like you do have some talent, but not as good as me." You looked up to him and smiled.
"I gotta say, I do love a girl who knows how to handle a gun." He smiled and wrapped his arms around you.
"This was perfect. I never realized how much I missed this. Thank you for bringing me here."
"You are very welcome. We can make this a reoccurring thing too if you want. From the looks of it I could sharpen my skills as well. Happy birthday, Jen." He said pulling you closer to him and kissing you long and passionately. You pulled away a minute later and bit your lip.
"Thank you for giving me a great present." You blushed.
"Oh baby, the night is just starting." He winked, grabbing your hand and walking back down the lane.
