"Alright, we'll have a task force starting on the east and another starting on the right with the perimeter of the subdivision surrounded. We need to get the warrant from the judge and we have another wave of officers coming in so we should be able to do this here within the next week." The Captain called out to his officers and detectives.
"But so far, that's the game plan." The room open lobby to the precinct broke up and went back to their assigned tasks.
"Where do you need me?" Jensen walked up to the Captain.
"Home. You need to get some rest Jensen." He answered, not looking up from the paper he was reading.
"How do you expect me to rest when she's out there?" He shot back at him. The Captain put his paper down.
"Don't get me wrong, we deeply appreciate all the help you've been, Jensen, but remember, we're the detectives. This is our job. We are doing all we can."
"But I can do more."
"Trust me, you need to rest. Go home, have a beer, or five and just pass out for the night. Trust me, if you don't, this will eat you alive." The Captain advised and Jensen finally surrendered. He nodded and grabbed his coat, walking out of the building.
It was dark and cold. Jensen always hated this time of the year, the only thing that made it better was knowing that you would be waiting for him at home, ready to cuddle up and watch a movie. Yet, this time, you wouldn't be there. He had no idea where you would be.
He sniffled back the emotions that were about to break loose as he opened his car and sat down in it. He rested his head on the steering wheel. He needed to be strong. He couldn't let him emotions get to him. Not now. Not when you needed him more than anything. He turned the key to start the ignition as his gas light turned on.
"Just beautiful." He murmured to himself and started to move the vehicle. He wasn't in the mood to stop driving for something like gas. He just needed to drive. In one way, he was just like Dean Winchester when it came to this. His car and a long drive was all he needed to clear his head. He decided that he would drive as far as he could until he had no other choice than to go to a gas station. That way he would be able to do his best to clear his mind. And with that, Jensen took off in whichever direction his mind told him to go.
It seemed longer than it had been when he lost exactly where he was. He thought he knew this town pretty well. But then again, nothing seemed to really be going right at this point in time. His car made a ringing sound again that let him know just how low he was on gas and he decided that he should put fuel in his car if he wanted to go any farther.
He pulled into the nearest gas station and parked. He knew he had some cash in his wallet and wanted to get rid of that first before using his debit. He tightened his jacket around himself and walked into the store.
The cashier was a young guy who seemed like he was just out of high school and had no ambition to do anything other than being a convenient store clerk.
"How can I do for you?" The young man asked as he moved his hair out of his face.
"I'll put $50 on number seven." He said pulling the money out of his pocket. He hear a noise that someone else was in the store as well but ignored it. He needed to get back out on the road, hoping to figure out where on earth you were.
"Here's your receipt." The man handed the paper to him and he nodded, taking it and walking away. He got to the door when he heard someone drop something then turned to look at them. The man had dark brown hair and was wearing a hoodie. The man looked familiar but Jensen couldn't put his finger on it.
He shook it off and walked back out to his car. It didn't take long for the car to fill up and Jensen was back in the driver's seat again. As he went to start the engine again, the person who had been in the store with him was exiting, with a bag full of what was no doubt junk food and soda. Jensen looked up and finally saw the face of the man. Everything clicked.
Kyle.
Jensen's heart started racing. He didn't know what to do. Go after him? Or call the cops? No, the police wouldn't get there fast enough. Plus, he escaped last time he was in their hands. No, this time Jensen was going to do things. And they were going to be done his way.
Kyle started the old beat up truck that was no doubt stolen. Completely oblivious to his surroundings, Kyle started to head back to his destination. Jensen was closely behind. One thing Jensen was glad that being Dean Winchester had taught him was how to trail someone. You needed to be close but not too close to cause suspicion. You need to be just the right amount of sneaky. And, you need to need to have passion behind what you were doing. Jensen was pretty sure he had enough of the last one to make up lacking in any of the other areas.
He followed the truck that led him down towards the river. Gen and he were right. They knew exactly where he would take you. Why couldn't the police just come now? They had practically given them all they needed.
Sure enough, Kyle turned into the subdivision they had pinpointed where they thought he would take you. This seemed way too easy. Could Kyle really be this dumb? Apparently.
Kyle pulled into the driveway of one of the condos that looked like it was recently occupied but still pretty bared. Kyle put the car in the garage and went inside. Jensen waited until the door was completely shut before he got any closer.
Jensen snuck across the front yard to look into the larger window in the front. Man, was he thankful he had been a Winchester for all these years, this stuff was like second nature to him. He noticed that only the kitchen light was on and that Kyle seemed to be alone. He decided that this may be his one chance to get you back and he had to take it.
Kyle placed the energy drinks he had just bought in the fridge and went back to get the chips. He was hungry and all he could think about was finishing the entire bag. He turned around and jumped.
"Who are you?" He shouted as he saw the outline of the figure that was standing behind him.
"You know, you should really be more careful when you go out in public." Jensen spoke, moving to the light.
"Holy shit, don't hurt me." Kyle begged, dropping the bag and holding his hands up in front of him in self-defense.
"Oh, hurt doesn't begin to describe what I am going to do to you." Jensen snarled. "Where is she?"
"I'm not going to tell you." Kyle tried to stand straight and tall, looking bigger than he was. He was still no match for Jensen.
"I'm going to ask only one more time before I beat it out of you. Where is she?"
"I'd like to see you try." Kyle spat out and Jensen's eyes went almost black. Jensen threw his first punch and it connected with Kyle's jaw. The sound it made would have caused anyone to shudder. Punch after punch flew through the air, mostly coming from Jensen. Blood was splattered up on his clothes, none of it his, as he got impatient.
"Son of a bitch, just tell me where she is!" He shouted, Kyle laying on the ground beneath him, labored breaths coming from his lungs.
"I can't," he struggled to breathe. "He said I can't say anything."
Jensen's eyes widened. Things started to click. He stood up from the man and backed up. He needed to go. You weren't here. You were still in danger. Maybe even more than you were before.
A ring brought Jensen out of this thoughts and he moved to the kitchen where the noise had come from. He looked on the counter and saw Kyle's phone light up with a new text message. Jensen grabbed the phone and walked back into the room where Kyle lay.
"I don't ever want to see you again. Anywhere." Jensen's foot connected with Kyle's face and he knew he had knocked him unconscious.
Jensen walked out the house and jogged back to his car. He needed to get back. He needed to figure everything out. He pulled Kyle's phone out of his pocket and looked down at the message.
"They are onto us."
