As the clock showed 7:55 am, Artem and I rise from the bed. We had been watching movies and just enjoying each other's presence.

"You ready to go, little one?" A asks me.

"Yeah, I'm ready." I reply truthfully- I have come to peace with what could happen today and I'm ready for it. We make our way to the lab and arrive there for 7:58.

I've spent quite a bit of time in this lab, over the past 10 years, I've had to come here everyday for daily check-ups, blood samples and building up my drug immunity- Ivan wanted me to take small amounts of drugs everyday to build up my tolerance and make me immune. I suppose it makes sense since he always says he's going to make me the "most lethal weapon on Earth".

"I'm going to be by your side for the whole time, El. I'm not going to leave you, I promise." Artem reassures me. I nod in reply while giving him a small smile, thankful that he's going to stay with me.

"Hello, Eliza." Doctor Anna greets me. Anna is my main doctor and I see her everyday. She's the only person, apart from A, I talk to. She's really nice to me and honestly cares about me. Her dark red hair brings out her deep blue eyes, she has a slim figure and her hair is pin-straight as it rests on either side of her head, coming down to her waist.

"Hey, Anna." I greet her back with a smile.

"So, you're going to be here everyday like normal but alongside your routine check-ups, you'll also have injections which will slowly build up in your body, over the next 2 years. It's a long process but it's the safest way for you." Anna tells me as I take it all in.

"Okay." I agree. I trust Anna with anything and I know she does what's best for me.

"Are the injections safe? Will she have any side effects? Is she going to have any medical issues or physical issues? How will this affect her mentally? Will she be safe?" Artem starts aggressively questioning her.

"These injections have never been used before so we don't know and I can't promise that she'll be safe. I won't hurt her but I can't say the same for any side effects of the injections." Anna replies.

"What side effects?" I question, wondering what's going to happen to me.

"You could have personality changes, your brain could start working differently meaning you could start thinking in different ways, you will get stronger and faster, your senses will be heightened but you could face mental health decline. Over the next two years, your body will slowly change until we get the final result but you'll have to ask boss what you'll be at the end." Anna explains.

"What do you mean 'what I'll be'?" Am I going to be a literal monster?

Just as she was about to answer my question, Ivan enters the room with guards on either side of him and behind him.

"Let's get this started." Ivan announces.

"Boss, can I talk to you for a minute?" A asks him and I assume he wants to talk about what the point of these injections is. "You've got two minutes and then we're starting." Ivan tells him.

They go off into a corner and start whispering. I have an idea of what they're talking about but I still wish I could hear.
