"Family or friends for a Melody?" One of the doctors walk up to the waiting room. Kylie flies out of her seat before Malia has a chance to even react. "Yes?" "Your friend is out of surgery. She lost a lot of blood. And due to that, it cuts off circulation to her brain, she's ok. She's alive but because of that she's in a coma. We don't know when she'll wake up." Kylie tries her best not to cry as she blinks repeatedly. "Um, can we see her? Do you think she can hear us?" He nods. "She should be able to. We're moving her up to a room right now. We'll come and get you once she's settled and you can go visit her." Kylie stares blankly at the floor. Malia notices and quickly steps up. "Thank you." He nods and walks away. "You ok?" Kylie shakes her head.

"She's in a coma. She's in here because of me!" Kylie cries. Malia quickly grabs her hands. "She's not. This isn't your fault Kylie." "Isn't it? She jumped in front of that bullet for me. I'm the reason she's hurt." Malia shakes her head. "She would have done for anyone. For me, Ruby, Dara. She's just that type of person. You can't change that." Kylie sniffles. "But i should have been with her. I knew, i knew she was acting weird once we got to the studio. I knew it! I just didn't think that meant that she was shot. But i should have known, i should have! We heard that gunshot! And my only priority was you! I checked you for any wounds cause i thought they were after you. But i should have checked. I should have-" Malia holds her face in her hands. "Stop. Stop. Breathe, baby. Breathe. She's gonna be fine. I promise." "How do you know?" Malia shrugs. "Cause I just know." Kylie shakes her head. "I can't lose her. I've known her since I was six! That's even longer than I've known Ruby!" "Baby, baby. Calm down. Mel is resistant, she's resilient, and she's a fighter. I guarantee you, she will wake up. I promise." Kylie nods as she sighs. "Ok, you're right. Yeah, she's gonna make it."

"I don't care what the fuck you say! I want to see her now!" "Oh shit...." Kylie whispered. Her and Malia quickly stand and run over to the front desk. "You tell me where she is, now!" "Ma'am, i need you to calm down, your wife-" "Yes! My wife! Where is my wife?!" "Christian." Kylie walks up to her. She sighs in relief. "Kylie." She walks over and hugs her. "What happened? How is she? How are you?" Kylie shakes her head. "I'm alright. They said she's in a coma. They finished the surgery though. They're moving her to a room right now." Christian nods. "Yeah, well it better be a PRIVATE ROOM!" She shouts at the staff. "Oh, I'm so sorry." She holds out her hand. "Hi, I'm-" "You're Christian Serratos." Malia says, starstruck. Christian laughs. "Yeah, i am. It's nice to meet you finally, she talks about both of you non-stop. Now I've met Kylie before but i keep hearing about a Malia or Lia, i think is what she called you." Malia laughs nervously. "Mostly good things, i hope." "All good things."

"Mrs. Serratos?" "Yes?" She quickly turns around. "Your wife is in room 613. She's asleep for now. But you're more than welcome to go and see her now." "Thank you." They all quickly head over. Kylie stops at the door and stares at the room number. 613. It seemed insignificant but she realizes that it actually meant more than anyone would think. To think, she met Mel six years ago, when she was thirteen. They walk in and see Mel sleeping in bed. Christian hurries to sits next to her and hold her hand. One of the nurses comes in and opens her hospital gown. Kylie and Malia quickly turn away. "Uh, what are you doing?" Kylie asks. "Checking her wound." Kylie feels a pang of guilt. "Um, we'll give you two a minute." Malia nods. Christian smiles sadly as they leave. They walk back to the waiting area. Kylie leans on the wall outside the room. "Kylie, you ok?" She shakes her head. "I couldn't....i couldn't....she's....i...." Malia grabs her hands. "Hey breathe. Breathe." She presses them on her chest, against her heart. "Focus on my heartbeat, breathe." Soon after, Kylie calms down. "Where did you learn that?" She asks. "Mel." She shrugs. Kylie smiles slightly. "Of course. Is there anything that woman can't do?" Malia laughs. "Hey, I'm gonna get something to eat. Did you want anything?" Kylie sighs. "Coffee, maybe." She nods and kisses her cheek. "Ok, I'll be right back. I love you. Text me if there's any news while I'm gone." Kylie nods. Malia goes to the cafeteria as Kylie let's her thoughts consume her. Who the fuck is doing all this? First herself, but they couldn't get her because Mel pushed her out of the way, so now they're getting Mel out of the way. Who's next? Ruby? Malia? Her parents? Her other friends? She couldn't let that happen. Malia comes back a few minutes later. "Here's your coffee babe. Kylie?" She checks the restroom and the front of the hospital. She decides to head back to Mel's room. "Hey Christian, have you seen Kylie?" She asks. "No, why?" "I can't find her anywhere." "Aw shit." Christian sighs as she grabs her phone. After realizing she doesn't have the number, she grabs Mel's phone instead. "Who are you calling?" "The bodyguards, Kylie took off."
