[y/ns pov]
As Maurice led us to a staircase, both Brian and Maurice start walking up it but never realized I wasn't with them, I had different ideas. So I wondered away from them and started exploring the monster world.
It was definitely different than the world I'm used to, up above it was always raining and or just really cloudy, the sun hardly ever showed, but down here it was like the sun never really existed.
As I walked around I saw some little monsters playing with a ball and I saw one of them kick it a bit to hard and it landed in a little crevice above me, they all looked said until one of them asked "um excuse me, if you don't mind could you please help us get that down? I would but I'm a bit to short" the monster laughed awkwardly, I smiled and said "sure! Of course, just gimme a second." I said and looked up at the ball, and attempted to grab it. No success. I then jump as hard as I can and the ball came down and I caught it, and handed it to the smaller monster.
"Thank you so much!" They all said smiling.
"No problem! Just don't kick it to hard next time!" I said and they nodded and ran off. I continued my walk around the monster world, I look to my left and saw a group of monsters playing cards, I smile and then continued walking until I heard a bunch of commotion so I decided to go see what was going on, I turn the corner and see the same staircase sink told us not to go up, but I saw he wasn't there, I looked around and started slowly going up the stairs until I saw a large door. I push through it and walk in looking around, until I saw another staircase, once I get to the first step, someone coughs I look up and see a guy in a suit and little boy shorts. "Hello there young one!" He says and smiles I smile back a bit uncomfortable with the sight of him "u-uh hello I-im sorry if I interrupted anything, I'm kinda lost" I say
The guy smiles at me "oh that's alright! I'll call someone to come get you!" "N-no it's ok! I'll find my way back, I was supposed to wait for my friend and little brother but I kinda wondered off." I say scratching my neck. He giggles (boys laugh always made me so uncomfortable😭) "well if you need anything please come to me! Oh I forgot to introduce myself! Silly me! My names boy, I'm the one who runs the monster world!" "So like your their leader?" "Yes!" He claps his hands together "might i ask who you are?" "Um y-y/n Stevenson!" I say with a smile "well you should probably get going! The sun comes up in about 20 minutes!" My eyes widen. "Oh s-shit! Thank you! Bye! It was nice meeting you!!" I say until he grabs my hand and kisses it, I cringe "pleasure is all mine." I nod and ran out the door and look up and realize I was lost I start running around and ran up some random stairs and found myself under some kids bed, I panic quietly run around trying to find a different bed to go under, I saw a door and decided to go through it, it was a bright pink room with random toys and tea party sets, I smile and saw a young girl probably about 4 or 5 years old sleeping peacefully, I saw the bed and start jogging and trip over a toy and fall on the ground with thud, surprisingly it didn't wake anyone up well except the little girl, she looks at me and I look at her and wave, she screams and I cover her mouth. "shhhh!! It's ok I'm not gonna hurt you, I'm just lost! Do you think you could help me?" She then uncovers her mouth from my hand. "Yes of course! But first we need to have a tea party!" She says smiling, I look at my watch, I bet I could spare like 5 minutes with her, I mean who wouldn't she's adorable!
[5 minutes later!!]
I look down at my watch again. "I'm sorry sweetie I'm gonna have to go! It's so late and I'm so tired." I fake yawn and she looks at me and says "ok! Will you tell me a story before you go?" She does the puppy eyes, I smile and say "sure! But let's get you back into bed!" She giggled and got up and I grabbed her from behind and pretended that she could fly, she laughed and I smiled. I tuck her back in and made up a princess and prince story and after i finished she was out like a light. I sighed and realized I lost track of time and looked at my watch. 5:34am it read. I jump and lift up the bed carefully and i forget I was to short for the stairs and i realized that's why Maurice always helped me, because I was to short, maurice was a few inches taller than me, ever since we met he would always comment how short I am. I rolled my eyes at the thought. I continued struggling to find a spot to set down my foot, as soon as i did I missed a step and can tumbling down the stairs onto the ground and I groan and lay on my side. "Oh my gosh! Y/n are you ok?!" I looked up and saw Brian and Maurice looking at me. I sit up, Brian came running and helped me up, I look at them and say "hey guys, where have you been?" I saw Brian looks at me "more like where have you been?!" He said while Maurice came up to me and dusted some dirt out of my hair and off my face. "Yeah doll, you could've told us where you were" he said and continued wiping my face off until he reached my cheek and his hand stopped at it and I made eye contact with him and we stared at each other for what felt like forever, until Brian spoke up and said "ok lovebirds we gotta go! Y/n and I have school soon!" Maurice and I both look away and blush, Maurice then snaps out of whatever trance he was in and claps his hands and said "ok let's get you buds home!" He said grabbing Brian's shoulder with his left and and grabbing my hand with his right hand, we all ran to Brian's staircase and Maurice lifts up Brian first and then me second, god sometimes I think he has some kind of super hero powers. I then pop my back under the bed and say "hey Maurice!" I say and look backs up and smiles "y/n if you don't hurry your gonna get stuck turn into a monster!" He says chuckling "I know but I just wanted to thank you! Tonight was one of the best nights Brian probably has had! And thanks to you he has smiled more than he has ever done since we moved here!" I say and Maurice stands there and blushes a bit and looks down"well I'm glad I can help! Buds are meant to make each other happy right?" He says as he raises his head back up. "You should really get going!" He said and I smile "ok ok fineeeeee!" I say pretending to sound whining we both chuckle and I boop his nose and his eyes widen as he touch the spot I booped "bye Maurice!" I say and bring my head out from under the bed.
I smile to myself and walk out of Brian's room and go into mine and lay down on my bed and sigh. Tonight was one of the best nights ever, and I bet with Maurice around things will get better!
