"And from our physics department, Ms. Muneeba Khan." loud echoes of applause ran through the auditorium hall. It was a proud moment for Muneeba's parents. Their daughter had just won 'The Student's Favorite Teacher Award. On the stage stood Muneeba with the round award in her hand, adorned in a dark green salwar suit. Her smile-contagious.
"And now, Ms. Muneeba will speak a few words" The host spoke, handing the mic over to her. "Firstly, I would like to thank all my lovely students for this," she spoke while wavering the trophy in the air, "Thank you very much. Physics has been my love forever, and having the opportunity to teach you all, I feel truly grateful". The loud applause spread across the room again, Muneeba's father- Mr. Salim Khan's chest filled with pride as he gave her a standing ovation.
She was extremely happy to receive this award, after all, physics was her passion. But, her mind kept wandering back to the event that took place here 5 months ago. In this exact college, in this very auditorium. He must have been standing on this stage too. Thinking about making more discoveries in this very department, but fate had other plans. She was lost in her trail of thoughts when her Abbu, her father came congratulating her as she came down the stage.
"Congratulations, mera baccha. I am so proud of you" Her father gave her the widest smile. His wrinkled skin near his eyes. Then came her mother and hugged her. She would never admit she loved her. Typical Indian mother behavior. Instead, she kissed her on the cheek.
(Mera baccha- my child)
All her colleagues and students congratulated her. Even her biggest role model, Professor Rashid Ali congratulated her. He was her biggest inspiration. Today was a great day. Beneath all this, she couldn't forget the real reason she was here. To bring justice to an innocent soul.
Muneeba has been working undercover as a physics professor in this college for the last 2 years. She is a private detective and was sent undercover to find out the truth behind the mysterious death of a very well-known and knowledgeable professor-Prof. Viren Bhatt. She was here in his place as a Physics professor. She still remembered 2 years ago, when the head of their team Mr. Raghav Shankar had informed them about Prof. Viren's murder. And had appointed Muneeba as the main agent to work this case, undercover. The fact that she had a PhD in Nuclear Physics and quantum physics helped Muneeba to get hired in the college.

Later that evening, The evidence board on the red brick wall had a spread of pieces of evidence, photos of victims, the autopsy report, Photos of suspects, and a person of Interest list. The POI list reminded Muneeba of a character from the book she had very recently read. Their office, AKA Raghav's second apartment was where she spent most of her time after her house.
She was supposed to meet the team here, but as always everyone was late. Even though this was Raghav's apartment any of the team members always had a spare key, which in most cases would be Muneeba. She sat on the couch and emerged in her thoughts when the doorbell rang. She answered the door and there he stood, her school friend -dressed in a black polo and khaki pants, his green eyes shone in the sunlight and became even more beautiful.
"Hi, kaisi hai?" his lips curving into a smile.
(Kaisi hai- how are you)"I am fine, what about you? Where were you all these days?" Muneeba inquired. This was their first work meeting after 1 and a half -months. They had decided that they wouldn't meet for at least 2 months now as they thought people were getting suspicious.
"Are, not much. I was here only, at my papa's shop" Raghav let out a tired sigh which indicated that he had been working hard since morning at his dad's office. His dad owned a snacks and farsan shop. After a while, all the other members arrived. Gurdeep and Ramsha, Forensics expert. Maya, tech specialist. Vivaan, Legal advisor. Ishani is the research specialist, and Uma and Yash are the administrative support and communications officer.
As Raghav made coffee for everyone, they all discussed any new cases and updated on the Viren Bhatt case. Muneeba had a lead about corruption in the college but that lead had turned cold. New strategies and plans were made. After 2 hours, they all left for their respective homes.

"Can you tell me exactly what happened on the 15th ?" He asked the client.
The man sitting opposite to him was drowning in sorrow. Probably in his late 40s, his black hair had white streaks on it due to old age. " We woke up, and I got ready for office as usual. Geeta-my wife prepared my tiffin and I left for work. But that evening, I came back-", tears started streaming down the man's face. He was stuttering. He drank water and calmed down. " Geeta's lifeless body was lying on the ground. I don't know what happened to her".
"Uncle, please don't worry. I will make sure that the culprit is put behind bars" The man in his late twenties spoke. His light brown eyes had a glint of hope and comfort in it.
A golden nameplate was kept on his desk, which read -in bold black letters,
Armaan Shah
Criminal Lawyer [ Shah & Associates]
"Beta, Please find out who did this to my wife. And make sure he dies 10 times more cruelly. Please, beta. I cannot bring her back, fighting for her justice is the least I can do" The man broke down again. Armaan felt something sting him in the heart. His eyes were now filled with tears and a lump in his throat constantly made him wonder, what this poor man must have been going through now. He promised himself that he would not rest until he could bring justice to him.
( Beta- dear)
