Yeonjun stands infront of her apartment door early in the morning holding the ring box in his hand. He drove there determined to break up with her, his mind was telling him the same thing, but really he didn't want to break up with her. He had so many questions to ask her, so many doubts to clarify. He himself was not satisfied with being a good boyfriend. It was awful, he couldn't evaluate himself on a scale. Looking at every other couples made his skin itch, guilt tripping and drowing in jealousy because that was not them.
He would quit being in relationships and focus on his career after breaking up with her. He nervously prepares himself to take over this hige surge of emotions. What if she broke down and cried? What if his heart regretted breaking up with her? Perfect break up was a fantasy in his head. It turned out to be in the right time and the right place, ensuring her safety as well as his. The door opens as he raises his gaze at her—for that matter, he surprised the door opened. He wasn't expecting her to even be alive.
He walks in with his gaze down, serious and welcomed by her perfume that she always wore. Joohyun rather looked happy seeing him in her apartment. Her morning was going pleasant so far. Yeonjun glances at her. There was no love that evoked in his heart when he saw her, while previously he would fall for her charms, her short and sleek bangs draped over her forehead, her tender soft cheeks flushing pink, her lips red and skin peeling yet inviting him for a kiss.
Before she even asked for it, the space between their bodies was closed and his lips were on hers, inviting her for an intimate meeting, experincing all the suppressed emotions under their skin. She slides her hands over his cheeks, pulling him even nearer, goosebumps erupts on his arms when he feels her fingertips graze on his nape.
Yeonjun pulls back confused, midway through the kiss. She bites her lower lip equally flustered, feeling her lips to figure out the reason. Her lips were chapped and rough. It was uncomfortable to kiss her. Yeonjun hadn't even felt her rough skin nick his soft plump lips. He couldn't think about a reason to defend his impulsivity. He just wanted to kiss her and he kissed her.
She brushes it off naturally with a pressed smile, unsatisfied with the kiss. She didn't deserve to ask him to kiss her one more time and pour in all the passion he had for her over the years. He was unsatisfied it with it as well, but his stubbon declaration to break away from the kiss was enough to take a good guess.
"Is Shia asleep? ", he asks pulling out a bar of chocolate from his other pocket, "Give this to her when she wakes up"
"Sure", Joohyun recieves the chocolate bar with a smile.
"Hyuna", he stops her from moving away from him. She pauses and turns around to face him holding the chocolate bar in her right.
"Can we talk?", he asks. She nods standing infront of him, not guessing what it could be. She trusts and believes that it was something important and needed both of their attention. Yeonjun takes a big deep breath in and releases it before starting off with it. His eyes were still down, of a mixture of fear and fatigue that she wouldn't be able to handle it.
"Let's break up."
Joohyun feels numb.
Her gaze remains down. She's processing it very slowly. It was almost as though her body had shut down. She wanted to break up with him first and now that he actually initiated it, she is not able to digest the fact that it happened. She had unconciously manifested it.
