chapter 5 :the wave/The lost:

Ok before I begin this chapter I'm going to say this I know the person who requested this story is mostly going to read every single part but in case you don't I suggest you read the other chapters in case you get confused at another point the reason I'm saying this is like most of my other stories some chapters that have some important information tend to get overlooked case in point the last chapter introduced the love interest this chapter obviously by the title will focus on the first wave and the duel now even though I know there is a small Time skip that is basically speeding up to the first wave in the actual show for some reason I still feel like I'm missing something and if I am please tell me I am sorry let's get on to the chapter.

(Third person POV)

: it was late in the night and our hero and his partner were asleep in their room but suddenly James woke up in a cold sweat as he thought to himself:

*That damn nightmare again she really thought I could escape it but going to this world*

: the nightmare he talks about only to himself it's the same one over and over for now altered due to recent events it's of him in his previous life managing to find a cure for his sister's disease only for her to be ripped away from him again but now it's for a different reason instead of dying to whatever cruel thing his mind could conjure it's now that she fell for the same lies everyone around him fell to and even though she would never believe them if she was here the brain is a cruel master and made him think that she would hate him and that everyone both his new and old friends would abandon him or kill him as he decided he was going to go for a walk he got dressed only in some basic clothing not putting on his armor and leaving all of his weapons besides the shield in his room sneaking out the window knowing if you were to go downstairs somebody would think he broke in he began to walk around the town eventually using his parkour skills climbed up the tall tower of the church and just sat up there he stared at his shield for a few moments but to him it felt like hours until he heard a voice the same The voice he's been hearing from The shield:

;you know you have a staring problem;

'why did you choose me'

;with that simple your kind caring you don't take crap from people not only were you a hero in your last life saving hundreds maybe thousands of people from either kidnappings trading rings you name it while you were a detective but also you care about people and can see the good in them;

'yet I've killed more people here than in the time I was a detective I've killed men and women who never see their family again all because of this thing I'm supposed to build'

;they were evil people don't you get it sure I can't directly talk to whatever else you hear but what I can tell is that that thing can tell you if somebody's good or evil and it is right so far the people you have killed have lied cheated even murdered people for no reason meanwhile the good can go home to see their families and be better people you did that you may not see it but you are a good person and not this monster they created with one lie;

'and how long will it take until my new friends betray me like the last ones everyone in this world already hates me I'm lucky I even found raphtalia but she doesn't even know what I supposedly did'

;and I guarantee you if she did know that her savior was the one who not only stopped a man who was treating a race of people like slaves but saved her and helped her through her trauma was supposedly a monster it has done nothing to her but show her kindness she would automatically change your opinion about you;
