Gwen woke up with a burst of excitement, her heart racing at the thought of Luke arriving in just a couple of days. She could hardly wait. Glancing at her phone, she fiddled with it anxiously, hoping to see a "good morning" message from him.

"You're doing it again," Sage remarked, her voice cutting through the quiet. Gwen looked up, startled. Sage gave her a knowing smirk. "Stop waiting around for Luke. He'll call when he's ready."

Asher and April exchanged glances, both nodding in agreement. "Come on, Gwen," April said, gently taking her arm. "Let's get you out of here. Fresh air will do you good."

Before Gwen could protest, Asher added with a grin, "Yeah, no more staring at your phone. We've got better things to do!"

Reluctantly, Gwen allowed herself to be pulled outside, the crisp morning breeze tugging at her hair while her friends chatted beside her, trying to distract her. But her mind stayed on Luke, waiting for that call.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed. Her heart leaped—it was Luke. She quickly answered, and his groggy voice came through.

"Morning," Luke mumbled, still waking up.

"Morning!" Gwen replied, a wide smile spreading across her face. But then she heard another voice in the background—familiar, but unexpected. It was Maddie, her closest friend from before she had to leave. Maddie's laughter rang out, bringing a wave of bittersweet memories.

"Maddie's with you?" Gwen asked, surprised but happy.

"Yeah, we've been hanging out a bit," Luke said casually. "You wanna FaceTime?"

Gwen eagerly agreed, and soon she found herself on FaceTime with both Luke and Maddie. It felt like old times, the three of them laughing, chatting, catching up on everything they had missed. But as the conversation went on, Gwen noticed how close Maddie was sitting to Luke. Her hand brushed his shoulder now and then, her smile lingering just a little longer than usual.

After they hung up, Gwen lowered her phone, her excitement slowly giving way to a nagging feeling of doubt.

"Did you notice the way Maddie was touching Luke?" April asked softly, breaking the silence.

Asher nodded. "Yeah, it felt a little... off, didn't it?"

Gwen's heart sank. She had always trusted Maddie and Luke, but something about the way they had acted together left her feeling unsettled. The excitement of the morning was gone, replaced with an unfamiliar, sinking feeling in her chest.

Today was an exciting day for everyone. Tiffany and Jorge were about to receive some great news, while Luke was expected to arrive shortly. Gwen couldn't stop thinking about it. "Okay, you guys are all tied up."

"Jorge, there's a snake on your foot." Tiffany gasped.

"What?" Jorge panicked.

"Sometimes, it's just too easy." Zuri laughed.
