"No way!" I exclaimed. "What?" Andrew asked annoyed. "Look!" I exclaimed. He slowly exited his seat and looked at the red computer screen over my shoulder. "What is this?" He asked in an annoyed tone. "Well, what does it look like?" He rolled his eyes and shot me a dirty look. "It's an invitation from Mr.Haze," I explained. Andrew's sleepy eyes widened, "The Miles Haze?" He asked intrigued. "Yes!" I squealed with excitement. "Shut the hell up, Char!" Shouted River. I shot a glare in his direction. "You 'shut the hell up'," I mumbled. "What was that?" He asked sharply. I flinched and quickly turned to avoid eye contact. He let out a dry laugh before standing up and walking in my direction. "What was this about Miles Haze?" He asked looking over my shoulder. "She got invited to one of his events to interview him," Andrew explained. "Look at you Char." he teased. "They grow up so fast," said a smokey voice, wrapping her arms around me. "Yeah, it only took her a year and a half of pestering to get here," Andrew remarked. "Shut up," I barked. "I earned this," I smirked. "Obsessed much," Valentine laughed letting go of me. "Obsession leads to greatness," I stated. "Says who?" asked River. "Says me," Valentine giggled and ruffled my hair. "Char, you have a big day tomorrow why don't you go and get some rest," she said sweetly. I quickly looked at the email, and sure enough, the date was set for tomorrow. "Holy shit!" I exclaimed, "I gotta go!" I said scooping my belongings into a pile before putting them in my bag. "Bye, guys!" I yelled before backing out of the door. I skipped down the stairs and out of the building. I pulled out my phone while outside and checked the time 11:11. How perfect! I thought. I smiled and pranced happily down the sidewalk. I was so excited to share the news with Kade, he knows how much I have wanted this interview, maybe we could even go out for drinks to celebrate. I unlocked my apartment door and stepped in I walked through the apartment quietly in case he was sleeping. I heard a soft moaning sound as I got closer to our bedroom I slowly opened the door assuming he was talking in his sleep. When I walked in I saw a woman with light green hair on top of Kade. I gasped and took a step back. "Charlotte?" He asked. My vision began to go blurry as the tears began falling. I quickly ran toward the front door. "Charlotte!" He called. "What?" I asked sharply through tears. "It's not-" I quickly cut him off. "What it looks like?" I finished. "No Charlotte," He began. "You said you loved me," I sobbed. "I do love you," He said grabbing my hand. "I-I was so happy and excited to share such wonderful news with you, and then you do...this," I sniffled. "What existing news?" he asked. "I got the interview with Miles Haze-" I began, he dropped my hand and sneered. "It's always this goddamn Miles Haze!" He shouted. "He's an awful person and he should be in jail!" he yelled. "You haven't heard his side," I started "NO," he barked. "For almost two years you've been obsessed!" he roared. I stood, too stunned to speak. "We're done, get your things and get out," He ordered. "Fine," I replied walking back to our room and putting a pair of clothes into my bag and my hair brush. I glanced over to the girl wrapped in my bed sheets. I sighed and left the room. Kade opened the front door for me. "Sorry, it had to end this way, Char-" I put my hand up to stop him. "I'm done," I said softly before walking out and closing the door behind me. I walked down the steps before bursting into tears. I fumbled around my bag before fishing out my phone. I searched through my contacts before finding her. I hit the call button and waited. "Hey sweetie," said Valentine. "Hi Val, um, can I stay with you tonight," I asked shakily. "Of course hon," She replied. "Did something happen?" She asked. "I'll tell you the details later," I said. "Oh no," she said softly. I sighed. "I'll be over in ten," I said softly before hanging up. I walked down the sidewalk. I can't believe he did this to me, I thought. No, I knew he would... I sniffled making my way to the metro. I scanned my card before walking down the stairs. I hopped onto the next car and checked my phone. Nothing not a single call or text from Kade. I tried to be surprised but I wasn't. We have been together for almost five years now, he was done by the third. We got together in high school, and he was happy, for three years we were 'that' couple, but when we got to college he didn't want anything to do with me. I knew about that girl and the others. I never wanted to bring it up because I was in denial, but this time I couldn't pretend like I didn't see anything. The ding of the doors snapped me out of my thoughts. I composed myself before getting off I bargained walking once again when I saw Valentine's home. I walked up the stairs and rang the doorbell. She quickly swung the door open and motioned me to come inside. "Take a seat hon," she said. I slowly walked toward the couch and took a seat. "Valentine, the hot chocolate is ready!" Called a feathery voice. I was taken aback thinking I was the only person in Valentine's home. She saw the confusion on my face and quickly explained, "That's Cora, my girlfriend," Valentine explained as she walked into the living room. She smiled at me sweetly and handed me a cup of hot chocolate. "Charlotte right?" she asked through a smile. "Yes, you can call me Char," I gave her a small smile. She nodded her head and handed a mug to Valentine. They both took a seat on the couch and looked at me. We sat in silence before I blurted, "he cheated on me!" I sobbed, tears rolling down my cheeks. Cora passed me a box of tissues. "And then," I sniffled. "He said this is all happening because of my 'obsession' with Miles Haze," I cried wiping my eyes. "Oh, honey," Valentine said softly, rubbing my shoulder. "Then, he kicked me out," I finished crying harder. "Oh my god," Cora gasped. "He sounds like a real jerk," Cora remarked. I nodded through tears. " I'm going to get you some blankets," Valentine said standing up and putting down her mug. She walked towards what I can only assume to be a closet and pulled out blankets and a pillow. She walked back over and plopped then next to me. "You have a big day tomorrow," she reminded. "You earned that interview," she smiled ruffling my hair. "Thanks, Val, I owe you one," I smiled. Cora stood up as well, "It was wonderful meeting you Char," she grinned. "I great meeting you as well," I said. They turned to head toward their room. I lay on the sofa and stared at the ceiling. I glanced over to the clock. 2:35?! I thought I closed my eyes and thought about the events that took place today, lost in thought I drifted off to sleep.
