Teens never wandered beyond The Gate. In fact no one ever wandered beyond the Gate. It stood 15 feet tall with spike along its black iron posts, these were welded to its brick walls surrounding the village. It had been there since the elders could remember.
But last week had changed everything and caused chaos among the mass. Last week their supplis had been dropped off miles outside the gate instead of in the center of town, and the only explanation they got was a peice of paper pointing . The village was so confused that they waited a week to attempt getting it. Could you blame them? For 119 years everything they ever needed was dropped off in front of them, from medicine to food to clothes.
Today, they were going to have to climb the gate, and leave their safe haven to survive. So the citezens had decided to nominate one person from each sector of the villages 3 sector - Hisj (Meaning of the woods, Bes (meaning of the water) and Naowt (the prison sector)The nominationfrom Hisj was a tall muscular boy named Kazio, his section followed him with banners and streamers. Next to arrive was Reza from Bes, standing at an average height but with long legs, her section sang and danced behind her. Lastly was Adara from the prison sector. She ws just as tall as Kazio but with thin long limbsand scars that ran down her body, making her seem older than 16. Everyone quieted. Only two people followed her, both dressed in police uniforms, heavly armed and holding the keys to her hand cuffs.
Reza felt an involuntary shutter run down her spine. She knew Adara was sentenced to life but for what? The village was never that harsh with punishments. An elder, dressed in the usually white robe, introduced himself as Alroy and thanked all the citezans for their support, before dismissing them. As they left, he asked the the officers to uncuff Adara and to leave. He explained how they would climb the wall and gave them as detailed directions as he could ( considering no one had ever left the village before) and back pack with enough supplis to last for 2 weeks, one to get there, one to get back. " Any questions?" he asked, looking at the three of them. Adara scoffed, " The Bes and Hisj are her to honor their dear village, what brings me?" He didnt even flinch when answering, " You get out of prison, permanetly." Reza's head snapped, could that be true? Adara had a smirk ghosting her lips and let out a small chuckle, " You sure know how to make a girl work for-" "ONLY if you bring back the supplis." Her smile left, " Whatever Old man."
She started walking away, as Reza and Kazio thanked Alroy and left. They had to jog to catch up to her, and she was already half way up the wall. A deep breath left Reza's lips, what she was finally doing set in. She was leaving her home, and all the saftery and love that came with it. Kazio was already starting on the wall and Adara just jumped over as if she'd done this before. She heard Adara land and Kazio helped her find a few foot holes before he jumped over. Once reaching the top she looked down and gasped at the sight.
