(A/N- Imagine Ellie is already teething and that it isn't what is making her unsettled)

*Katie's pov*

I'm so tired. Ellie wouldn't go to sleep. She was so unsettled. I'm gonna take her to see the medics when we get to training. Once everyone is ready to leave we go to training. I take Ellie to the medics.
"Hi Katie how can we help you?" Rose says
"She's been fussing all night and it isn't her teething. Me and Caitlin have tried everything to settle her down but it just isn't working. I'm worried something is wrong and we can't tell" I tell Rose
"Bring her to this bed over here and we'll do some checks on her." Rose says. She completes some tests before coming back to us.

"Ellie has a really low blood sugar. Do you think you could make her a bottle with this in to get it up. I would also like to run one more test on her to find out why it's so low, if that's ok?" Rose says
"Of course I can make her a bottle with it in and I don't mind what tests you do" I say. I make her bottle and within 20 minutes she's back to her normal self.
"Someone seems happier" Rose says
"She definitely is" I say
"So Katie, Ellie has a condition called Type one diabetes. It isn't curable but she will be perfectly fine with it. You will need to check her blood sugar regularly and if she goes low give her something sweet. If it gets to anything too low give her a bottle with these gels in. If she goes too high she will need an insulin shot. Once she is 18 months old you will be able to get her an automatic machine that will give insulin from an app on your phone. I would recommend getting her the Libre style two for now to monitor her blood sugar as it is easier that a finger prick as again it is just an app on your phone. I know that is a lot of information so I've got a few leaflets to help. One for you and one for Caitlin to take with her on camp so she also knows what to do" Rose says
"Thank you Rose. I will talk to Caitlin and tell her what to do. I'll also get her to talk to Tony so he knows and can book her assistance when getting through security with the medicines and needles" I say. I talk to Rose for a little longer, her telling me what I need to expect with Diabetes before I head out to training. Ellie starts to cry.
"Your ok Ellie girl. Let's get you to the girls. You will be happy again once you see Cait as it isn't your blood sugar" I say. We get outside and she instantly gets happier
"Can you see Caitlin?" I say to the girl. I put her on the floor and she goes crawling straight to Caitlin, who had realised Ellie was crawling over so crouched down to grab her.

"There's my happy girl" Caitlin says, "How is she? You were gone a while" She adds
"She's got type one diabetes so we need to keep an eye on her but she will be ok. She's already so much happier for getting her sugars up" I say
"At least we know what is going on. I will let Tony know so she can be with me at all times possible or with someone who knows what to do. You should probably tell Jonas" Caitlin says.
"I will do. I must have missed most of training" I say
"Yea but I told Jonas you had to take Ellie to get checked over. He doesn't mind. I'm sure you can just watch as we are playing 5 a side games now" Cait says.
" I will do then. Come here Ellie" I say taking the young girl before walking over to Jonas.
"How's my bestie?" Jonas says
"She's got Type One diabetes. I'm glad I took her to get checked out but I'm sorry I've missed most of training." I say
"That's ok. You can do gym with them after lunch. Can I hold Ellie?" Jonas asks
"Of course" I say handing him Ellie. Ellie snuggles her head into Jonas' neck and falls asleep.
"She loves you Jonas" Beth says walking over at the end of training
"I guess she does. Go get your lunch" Jonas says, carefully transferring a sleeping Ellie to me.
