" Haejin? " The young girl, deep in the act of coloring her way through a vibrant coloring book on the soft, carpeted floor of her room, snapped her head up in response to the question. With an enthusiastic " Yes? " Spilling from her lips, her voice echoing her eagerness to see her mom calling. Her small fingers grasped a blue crayon, ready to resume her artistic endeavors.

" Will you come down here for a moment? I have something for you to do, Dear. " Her mother, having set down her baking gloves on the table, stood waiting patiently for her seven-year-old daughter to make her way down. The scent of freshly baked goods still filled the air as the mother anticipated the little girl's response to her call. The girl, still clutching the blue crayon, closed her coloring book and bounded down the stairs, her curiosity piqued by her mother's request.

" What is it, Mom? " Her mother chuckled affectionately as the little girl arrived, blue crayon still in hand. The woman presented her with a jar brimming with freshly baked cookies, their enticing aroma wafting through the air. The girl's eyes widened at the sight, her sweet tooth eager to indulge in the treats.

" No, sweetie, these aren't for you," Haejin's mom said gently, smiling. " They're for our new neighbor who just moved in across the street. "

Haejin nodded her understanding, realizing that the cookies were not for her enjoyment. She then began to don her shoes and jacket, preparing to head out. Her mother watched her fondly, confident in her young daughter's maturity and reliability. The mother knew deep down that she could trust Haejin more than anyone else in her life.

" I'll be right back, Mom! "

Knock knock.

Haejin, the seven-year-old, had been anxiously awaiting the door's opening, her small hands clasped behind her back to prevent herself from reaching for a cookie. Her little heart skipped a beat as the door finally creaked open, revealing a woman with short, black hair and fair skin. Relief washed over Haejin as their arrival signaled the moment she had been anxiously waiting for.

" Good afternoon, Ma'am! My mother baked these delicious, sweet, yummy cookies by heart! And my mom said to give them to you. " The woman couldn't help but chuckle at Haejin's enthusiastic demeanor as the young girl offered her the jar of cookies. Her heart melted a little at the endearing sight of such a delightful child. She gratefully accepted the jar and offered a warm smile in return.
