"Y/n... I may not be the smartest person but I don't think friends kiss each other." Randal replied as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. Y/n raised a brow at him with confusion.
"They don't? Then why did we just kiss?"
"For the plot."
Y/n blinked slowly at Randal before she nodded. Not that she understood what the cryptic was going on about. "But what are we now?" She asked. "Best friends?"
Randal often forgot that Y/n wasn't entirely human. She existed because of him, and as a result, things that were common knowledge to most people were unfamiliar and rare to her. But that didn't make her unintelligent—far from it! "Nooo~ something more though!"
Y/n's eyes lit up with joy. "Bestest of friends!"
Randal stared at her for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck in frustration before letting out a long sigh of defeat. Sometimes, he forgot that Y/n wasn't like everyone else—she wasn't exactly human. She was a creation born out of his own existence, so the things that seemed obvious to most were a mystery to her. Not because she lacked intelligence—far from it—but because her understanding of the world was shaped by her connection to him. Maybe she really was just a bit... *air-headed* at times. "No—uh—never mind!" he said, shaking off the thought. Trying to recover, he flashed her a smile and offered, "How about we take a walk instead?"
Y/n blinked, not quite grasping what he had been about to say, but nodded eagerly. They began strolling down the sidewalk, the soft breeze ruffling their hair as the warmth of the sun bathed them both in a golden glow. For Y/n, even something as simple as this—walking under the sky—felt like a brand-new experience, and for a brief moment, Randal found himself watching her again, wondering how she saw the world through her eyes. "Y/n, do you ever get lonely?" Randal suddenly asked.
Y/n hummed in thought, thinking back on his question. "When you're not here, yeah... how come you don't make people so that I can have company? I-I know that you don't like the thought of that but it could make me a bit more comfortable." Y/n convinced with a soft smile of hope. Randal squinted his eyes at her with disagreement. He didn't want to share someone so dear to him with nonexistent people. What if she finds someone else who is more fun to hang out with? What if she forgets all about him and leaves him? He can't experience the thought of Y/n leaving him to go play games with someone else. It was a nightmare that he could never wake up from if it were to happen. Randal knows that she gets lonely down here but if she leaves then Randal would be all alone once again. "Please? Just one?"
"Y/n, I know that you get lonely here—but think about how I'd feel if something were to go wrong. What if you start hanging out with this person and they're just a complete jerk?"
"...Don't you have to make them a jerk since it's your imagination?"
"What if they turn into a jerk?"
"Then just remove them? It's your mind, silly!" Y/n giggled as she wrapped her arm around his own, pulling him closer to her. She didn't seem to take the hint that Randal was trying to make apparent sense. Instead, she took it lightly with a grain of salt. "Y'know Randal, you sure do worry a lot. Like a lot! Maybe you should just relax!" She beamed.
Randal didn't like the fact that she wasn't taking what he was trying to say seriously, but he was a bit thankful that sue didn't fully understand. Who knows how'd she react if she came to her senses that Randal wasn't willing to share her with anyone and make her stay here alone without another person to talk to that wasn't him.
"Yeah... maybe I should relax."
