Rain fell from the sky that night. The sound of raindrops hammered the roof of the castle, being able to be heard from the Medlab. Lady Dresnia, and her daughter, Serenia had just finished passing out trays of food and drinks to the fifteen girls, that Melody and her cousins rescued. Cadance had been the last to receive hers, not because she was last to receive it, but because she continuously refused to eat.

"Why isn't King Silver storming the castle, to get her back?" She asked Dresnia, as she forced the tray of food into her lap. "Shouldn't he be doing something?" Dresnia sat down next to her, pondering her answer.

"When he went to Raigan's castle to retrieve her last time, he knew what he was getting himself into." She explained. "He had faced Caius numerous times beforehand, and faced Raigan once, so he knew what he was getting himself into." The original Mistress of Blackwater could see the concern on this girl's face. "Serena, the King has every intention of getting his daughter back. If I know him even remotely as well as I think I do, he is hold up in his study, obsessively going over every piece of information he has on The Children of the Moth, The Mothman, and The Moth's Totem, trying to find a way to save her."

At that exact moment, Silver entered the Medlab, horns protruding from his head, and flames pouring from his eyes. He was holding several books in his hands. "Ok, two things." He growled, addressing the girls first. "One, once you're all fed, and looked after, your parents are all out in the Castle Atrium, ready to take you all home." He then slammed the books on Dr. Mallard's desk. "And two, nowhere in these blasted books, does it show a weakness to The Mothman, or his Children. Nowhere!"

"Your Grace?" Cadance asked, as the fourteen other girls finished their meals, and stood up to leave. "Two things. One, I'm not going anywhere. Not until Princess Melody is home. And two, is it possible that you're overlooking a minute detail. Something extremely important."

"And what detail could that possibly be!?" Silver snapped, turning on his heel to face her. If it had been any other civilian, they would've recoiled in fear. But not her. She stood her ground, setting her tray off to the side, and standing up.

"Oh come on!" Cadance shouted. Dresnia was shocked. Very few people had the gall to talk to him that way. And yet, here was this sixteen year old girl, standing her ground against the Crimson Dragon. "You've done the research! For The Six's sake, you teach this stuff to children! You're supposed to be the smartest man of your generation, and you can't figure this out!?"

"What kind of detail could I possibly have missed!?" Silver responded in kind. "The only thing I've managed to get out of these books is that Minister Horgath is ancient, The Mothman is an entity of catastrophe, and malice, and that The Moth's Totem is able to warp the mind of those who gaze into it's gemstone eyes! No sign of a weakness anywhere!"

"Let me see then!" Cadance retorted, walking over and opening the book of artifacts that Silver had brought. By this point, Lyna, Grenadine, Terry, Gold, Grant, Gail, Xander, Carlotta, Cyrodil, and Torin were in the doorway, listening. They were all whispering to each other. Dresnia had heard the words "ten gold says he burns her to a crisp" leave Terry's mouth.

Cadance flipped through the book, until she reached the section on The Moth's Totem. "Right there!" She points at a page, and Silver storms over, beginning to read. As he read in his head, Cadance read out loud for the room. "The Moth's Totem may be an ancient symbol, said to be completely impervious to damage. Its magic gemstone eyes however are a different story. It is said that should these gems be destroyed by something pure, like the purest of light, the hypnotic effect that they have should vanish, freeing those under its influence."

"Ok, and how does that help us?" Silver asked. "Sure, that might help us lower their ranks, but it doesn't help us beat them, and save Melody."

A guard forcefully pushed his way through the Royal Family, and entered the room. "Your Majesty, you have a visitor." He stated, bowing. "I have taken the liberty of bringing her up to your study. She claims to be from The Children of the Moth."
