If you're new to this book just be warned that some of the writing in here is terrible and I'm working on fixing it. Still feel free to read it but I would just like to edit a lot of things in this book.
Craig -
It Sunday and I'm at church with my mother. Older women in the stands are fanning themselves as Reverend Smith preached. "If a man also lies with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination! They sure surely are put to death, and their blood should be upon them." Reverend Smith finished and closed his bible. He smiled then looked up at the members in the audience of the church through his thick round glasses.
Ladies were in their big silk hats, kids slept or moved around in their seats and again, it was another humiliating, extremely hot, Sunday for me. I sat there in my brown church suit watching the faces of the members in the church show. It was a wash of interest in the topic that felt like it was surely towards me. It was not the church that made me feel like shit, but it was the fact that all the topics of the church have been about the "so-called stages of mankind, and sins of gays." That week.
Maybe it was the fact that I had finally come out to support my mom and dad, and the Reverend who lives right fucking next door to us and was such a nosy ass, who sniffed up everything except the Holy butt crack, of blessings. I sunk in my seat then sighed.
"How long do we have?" I whispered to my mom. She fixed her hat then looked down at me, giving me a weak smile, "Don't worry sweetie, it'll be over sooner than you think." She whispered.
That right there told me that there was a long way to go before I could kiss the Heavenly air that would soon sweep across my face, once I walk through the double doors, and out of this God-Gift church.
Anyways my so-called bros, they are all judgmental bastards who were nothing but phonies. A few days ago, they were inviting me to play basketball with them and once they found out I was gay the next day they were all surprisingly sick and couldn't make it to the court. As Sunday comes around each week the newly, and true rumor began to spread throughout the church, making it harder for me to be proud of what I am.
I feel as if I was the epitome of a new disease, "gay HIV." I kept thinking about all of this that had happened a while back, as time flew by, which felt like hours to me.
"May god be with you all always,"
"Amen!" Reverend Smith finally finished. The members all stood up, clapped, conversed, and began to depart.
"Quick! Let's get the hell out of here!" I whispered loudly to my mom who slowly shook hands with a few ladies of the choir and members of her booster club.
"Craig!"
"Sorry mom, but I can't deal with that man for another minute."
"I know, I know son, but you know how the Rev is and what type of predicament we are in. We're Christian and you're Christian, but different; in sexuality son."
"But that doesn't give that man a right to ridicule me about Mankind, fucking Mankind in here!" I whispered loudly to her with attitude.
"Jr, watch it!" My mom demanded. "Sorry, he just gets me mad ma."
"I know, I know sweetie." She had pulled me into a hug, "We're gonna help you fight through this okay?" I smiled in her arms and sighed. I always feel safe when I'm with my mom on church days. My dad, on the other hand, was out of town with his brothers.
We were just about to head out of this place until, "well, well, well, if it isn't sister Crippen!" Shit...
The reverend yelled as he slowly walked up to me and my mom. I turned around slowly, with a look of annoyance. I stood back as my mom shook hands with him and gave a little hug.
"How are you doing this evenin' Rev?" My mom asked. "Well, sister Crippen let's just say I'm taking it step by step, move by move." I rolled my eyes..."More like sniff by sniff in peoples' business," I whispered. "That's what I'm talking about Rev, taking it one step at a time." My mom egged on.
"I see little brother Crippen back there is getting bigger each time I see him. I promise these young folk's keep on getting bigga' and bigga'. Not too long ago, my son Ray had his 17th birf'day!"
"That's nice. Craig turned sixteen a few months ago." Hmm, it kind of funny he didn't know that already. He IS nosy and lives right next door to us. I folded my arms, leaning against the door.
"Matter of fact, Ray! Come her' boy! I want you to meet Sister Crippen and her son." Reverend Smith yelled across the room. As the reverend turned around to call his son over I whispered to my mom.
"Come on, maybe we can make a run for it before his next lecture!" I hissed. She had waved me off, then, there he was, a tall, skinny but muscular, young man in a black and white suit, walking up to me, my mom, and the Rev.
His hair was in two long braids, had beautiful eyes and a smile made from the Gods. His smile got wider and I could see the crooks in his teeth, it's alright though, it makes the smile more hmm- wait hold up, boner check, okay, I'm good. I slowly looked back up and stopped eye fucking him.
"Here's ma, boy Ray Smith!" Reverend S. said. "Wow haven't you grown into a handsome nice fellow since I've seen you last." My mom teased. "How was Christian boarding school?" Huh, Christian boarding school? That is probably why I never met him before. Hmm, then how does my mom know him? So many questions that will be answered later.
"Thank you ma'ma and it was...very interesting." Ray replied, he's such a dreamy gentleman. His eyes then slowly went to me and I blushed a little. "Hi, Craig." Purrrr call me Jr.
I look down, eyeing what was in his pants, shit.
......I think I'm about to officially go to hell....
