The look on Fey was excitement and determination as she was eager to learn more about how I turned a normal fireball into a blue-ish raging fireball.

"Sir Sen... just who even are you? For the fireball to turn blue... How is that possible?"

"Listen Fey, what I am going to teach you isn't just some normal technique you can learn quickly, it takes a while before even grasping the feeling in your very hands. And just to let you know, this isn't just made exclusively for a fireball. But for now, a fireball will work just fine."

Fey looks at me, she seems to be interested at least.

"You seem to be interested in this technique aren't you Fey?" I laugh before continuing. "Alright, to start off– Overwrite your knowledge about making a fireball and listen to me."

Fey seems to be startled from the sudden statements I made, though she seems interested in learning as she hasn't even been talking at all while I was teaching her.

"Alright Fey, create a color in your mind that hasn't been discovered yet." I said as I looked at her with a straight face"

Fey looks at me, confused. "Huh? What do you mean Sir Sen? "Think" of a different color...? Isn't that impossible?"

"Alright let me explain now," I took a deep breath before explaining. "Normally, when you cast a fireball it would naturally look like a color ranging from yellow to orange, or sometimes even red."

"...That is because our brain has a "Formula" of sorts that converts itself into a form of magic. When I asked you to think of a color that didn't exist it was impossible, correct? That's because there was nothing to support your thought. Or in this case, no 'Formula' to base it on."

"Now," I look at Fey with a serious face, before questioning her. "How can you create a Formula that can create a color that has never existed?"

Fey enters "The Thinker Pose" before answering my question. "By trial and error? I am sure it's connected to that somehow, but I just don't know how one can think of a color that had never even existed."

"Simple," I said smiling. "You can't"

Fey seems to get even more confused by the second.

"Well, you can't, if you base it in a color that has already existed. The only way you can create a color that has never existed, or in this case a "Formula, is by not changing your magic but your body."

"My body...? But isn't that how we already manipulate our magic?" said Fey.

"That's when you're wrong Fey, I am not talking about merely the body. I am talking about properly understanding where your "magic" really came from." I said as I pointed towards Fey's Chest.

Fey blushes, seemingly embarrassed. "My c–chest? Sir Sen, explain yourself right now or someone might get a beating."

"Fey... I meant learning to use your mana core." I sigh before continuing. "They might teach you and the other students of Tosiofu about learning and grasping your mana core. But I doubt they'd know about what I am about to tell you. And also, stop adding a 'Sir' before saying my name. Just call me Sen."

Fey looks at me, still embarrassed but relieved. "O–Okay Sen."

After a moment, I continued my rambling session. "Anyways, as I said. I am going to teach you a special way to access your mana core faster and give you more breathing room than getting stuck on just grasping your mana core."

Alicia had trouble grasping the very essence of her core back then, and yet... she still proved herself by eventually learning it and mastering the other stages many times faster.
