The evening was heavy with darkness as I drove through the desolate streets of Raipur, heading toward the new headquarters of Mahendra Seth. The building, though modern and imposing, felt more like a haunted castle to me. My heart pounded harder the closer I got, each beat echoing in my ears. This place. This man. They always filled me with a kind of fear that burrowed into my bones.

One thing was certain; they weren't going to kill me. Not yet, at least. Not when they needed me to keep Adhiraj distracted, away from their scheming and plotting. Their empire was rising, and as long as I kept playing my part, I was safe. But why were they after him in the first place? That was the question that clawed at me, that kept me up at night.

What did they want with Adhiraj?

Parking the car, I stepped out, tugging my hoodie closer around me as if it could shield me from the impending storm. If situations turned south, knowing I'll be alive; the first person I'll confront is Adhiraj! It's right time to expose everything! The building loomed above me, dark and foreboding, with the twisted branches of nearby trees casting eerie shadows over the entrance. It looked like something out of a nightmare.

I swallowed hard, shoving my hands into the pockets of my hoodie as I walked toward the entrance. Two familiar hulking figures in black T-shirts and shades stood at the door, their expressions unreadable. They didn't say a word, just nodded for me to enter. I did, feeling their eyes on my back as I moved through the lobby.

The lift doors slid shut with a soft ding, and I stared straight ahead, trying to keep my face neutral. No fear. Not here. I took a deep breath as the lift rose, floor by floor, the bright white lights overhead doing nothing to soften the terror gnawing at my insides. When the doors opened, two more guards escorted me to the final door. This is it. My fists were clenched in my hoodie pockets, my palms sweaty with nerves.

Stay calm. Stay in control.

The door opened, and there they were; Mahendra and Devraj Seth.

Mahendra sat behind a sleek, black desk, his aura unmistakably dangerous. His face was calm, but there was a cunning gleam in his eyes that could make anyone's skin crawl. Next to him sat his son, Devraj, his features sharper, crueler, as if he had been carved out of his father's worst traits and nothing else. Both of them: Devils in human skin.

"Come in," Mahendra's voice oozed with false warmth. I stepped forward, my face blank, though my heart was hammering in my chest.

"We've heard something interesting," Mahendra began, his eyes locking onto mine.

"The Rao collaboration... well, it seems they've shifted their interest to the ASR company," I felt a flicker of satisfaction at the news but didn't let it show. Of course, they did. I had made sure of that. But I kept my expression neutral, shrugging casually.
