"Aph, you met Laurance, right?"
"Yeah... Why?"
"Stay away from him."
Aphmau sighed as she tried fixing her school uniform for the day, "why's that?"
Katelyn helped her friend with the tie that was giving her so much trouble as she tried to explain how Laurance was 'just a flirt' and he 'didn't care about anyone else', but she didn't seem to mention that he asked Katelyn beforehand if he could ask Aphmau out, or that he stopped talking to anyone else that he thought would make her uncomfortable.
"We'll see about that, Katelyn..."
As the conversation about Laurance died down, Katelyn escorted Aphmau out of her room and to the door, "i'm ready to get this day over w-" as she opened the door, there stood two males. One being Katelyn's boyfriend, Jeffory, and one being Laurance.
Speak of the devil and he shall come.
And suddenly Aphmau forgot how to speak and her breathing patterns were irregular– "w- uh- h-hi Lau- hi guys...!"
Laurance chuckled, and it was like everything in this world made complete sense and yet none at all. Aphmau's world was spinning. "Hi, Aph. and... hello, Katelyn."
"C'mon guys, let's go." Jeffory insisted that the group started their tribute to school.
Aphmau stayed behind Katelyn the whole way through, it's not like Aphmau could have said the words like her.
"So, Aph, did you hear about the school dance?"
The question was random, but it made sense for Laurance, somehow.
Aphmau shook her head, her hand going to clutch the edge of Katelyn's sleeve. She looked to her blue-haired friend for advice or something.
Katelyn looked to Laurance, as if to tell Aphmau it was okay for her to speak to him by herself.
"...no, i- i haven't..." she managed to squeak out– Irene, she was a wreck. "why...?"
"Was just wondering." Laurance shrugged it off, but he and Katelyn had both known his intentions. if she didn't know about the dance, she couldn't possibly have a date, and he could take his chance then.
"oh... okay...!"
Katelyn sighed at the sight of her flustered friend; this was going to be a long day already, she could tell.
