"Are you two all set?" Jade inquired as his bicolor eyes inspected you and Grim, carrying both your belongings as you stood outside the front porch of Ramshackle and under the chilly night.
"Peace, Little Jellyfishy and Baby Seal! See you around!" Floyd made a peace sign with his two fingers and gave a lopsided grin.
"And if you're in need of lodgings, feel free to come and speak with us. Reservations for guest rooms in Octavinelle Dorm start at 100 thaumarks a night." Jade proposed, positioning a hand over his chest with a professional business smile to mask his true intentions. However, you already knew he was doing it for sales purposes, hence you were quick to decline. And with that, Jade offered you a curt, parting bow before closing the door.
"Hey! Wait! Say that to my face! NOBODY CALLS ME A BABY SEEEAAAL!" Grim yelled, pouncing on the door and scratching his paws at it, a futile attempt in getting it to open. A gust of wind suddenly blew past you, causing a few strands of your hair to flow with the cold breeze. You weren't all that bothered much with the current circumstances since you've endured and experienced worse, after all. Grim, on the contrary, was slightly shivering as he hugged himself. "Brr... Guess we're roughin' it tonight. This stinks." He whined.
"And whose fault is that?" You retorted with a small sigh, shaking your head in disappointment. Grim evidently cringed at your sharp reminder, refusing to meet your gaze.
Just then, footsteps echoed through the dreary night and rustled against the grass, indicating people were approaching. You turned your head to the source of the sound, noticing three distinct students running towards your direction, their figures becoming more clear and large as they got closer. "Hey, Y/n! Grim!" Ah, yes...the iconic adeuce duo and the wolf beastman.
"Myah! Are you guys here to help?" Grim perked up at the familiar voices, throwing his paws in the air in celebration.
Ace merely spared the feline a glance. "Hm... Not to help you, but it's kind of our fault that Y/n is out in the cold. It wouldn't sit right with me if you slept outside and caught a cold or somethin'..." He admitted sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck.
"What is with you and posturin'?" Grim's hopes were instantly deflated and replaced with a deadpanned, nearly irritated expression.
"We've talked with Housewarden Rosehearts. We can offer you a place safe from the elements if you don't mind sleeping in our four-man freshman dorm room." Deuce offered with a hopeful smile.
Jack raised a brow, internally grimacing at the thought of stuffing another person inside an already fully loaded space. "You guys are gonna cram ANOTHER two bodies into a crowded four-man room? What, does Heartslabyul not have any empty rooms?" He questioned.
Deuce sighed in response and shook his head. "Since nobody in our dorm ever drops out or gets held back, it's always at full capacity."
"Then..." Jack trailed off for a brief moment before inhaling sharply, "why don't you come to Savanaclaw Dorm instead?" The words spilled on of his mouth in a rather rushed manner, feeling a small hint of embarrassment seep through his stoic mask.
