NARRATIVE !

Pre-season testing was always tense. A series of three days jam-packed days where the ten teams competing in the 2024 Formula One season, would all gather to do their final rounds of testing on their new cars, tweaking and fine-tuning their machine for the season ahead. But these three days weren't just about putting the final touches on the car, it was about sizing up the competition.

Sniffing around the paddock to see who had the best car, who would be fighting for podiums and which would be left with the scraps. Not to mention who would be in contention to snatch the world driver's championship and the constructor's championship, with teams running the number, calculating the probabilities, comparing lap times and all the other stats and variables. Anything to help give even the slightest advantage coming into the first race. All ten teams silently hoped that could find a sign that this year was their year, but there could only be one winner.

And a team that everyone viewed as a threat was Ferrari without a doubt. The heavyweight of the motorsports world and deemed the greatest team to ever compete. With Fifteen world drivers championships and sixteen constructor's championships, they were the team to beat by a country mile coming into the season. But that hadn't always been the case.

Sure Ferrari was always in the conversation to win trophies and championships, but the truth is the last time they had won a world drivers championship was with Kimi Raikkonen in 2007. After that sure they had good cars and even greater drivers. But they lacked consistency, leading to heartbreak year after year.

But that all changed with Fallon Laurent, her announcement had been controversial. A fifteen-year-old racing in Formula One? You might as well have been sending a lamb to slaughter in the eyes of analysts and fans, not to mention she was a woman. Which was scandalous in of itself. She would be the youngest driver ever to compete, stanching the record from Max Verstappen. But it wasn't just her age and her gender that turned a few heads but her last name too.

Now anyone who knew anything about Formula One or motorsports in general knew the last name Laurent. Like Senna and Schumacher, it was a name synonymous with the sport, but they weren't referring to Fallon when they mentioned that name. They were referring to her father, Claud Laurent.

A racing legend who exceeded Michael Schumacher in world drivers championships, with an impressive eight. With him being very vocal about his ultimate dream to win ten championships, though that was cut short due to serious heart issues, forcing him to retire mid-season just as he was on the cusp of winning his ninth. Breaking the hearts of motorsports fans everywhere.

So when news broke that his daughter would be following in his footsteps, many were wary and doubted that she would be able to make even half the impression her father made. Believing she was just a rich girl who paid her way to the top, but that was far from the truth. Fallon was a Formula Four, Formula Three, and Formula Two winner. And she would prove them all wrong in due time.

She set the world alight in her first season, proving all of her doubters wrong. She would go on to mirror the likes of her father and her godfather Sebastian Vettel, by winning three back-to-back world driver championships and sealing the constructors for Ferrari in all three years as well. Smashing records and establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.
