Chapter two

Mila Jones

"Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous. My heart is fucking pounding." Mila squealed anxiously as she turned her attention back to the bathroom mirror. She took deep breaths trying to control the thousands of excited thoughts that rapidly sped in her mind. Her heart was pounding in her ears but her enthusiasm could be seen from a mile away.

Before school had ended, she'd been called into the principal's office to be informed that she and her team had been so impressive, that they'd made it into the top 50 cheer squads in her state. Therefore a couple of public new stations and possible donors would be coming out to watch them perform today. She was beyond happy to hear that but completelylost on what would impress everyone.

Mila took in a deep breath trying not to overthink. She focused back into the mirror, gazing at herself as she took in her fren green and pearl white uniform. She'd put her curly hair in a bun leaving just a single curl out. She loved her uniform, the way it snugged her thighs but wasn't suffocating her body. The ruffled fabric on her short white sleeves that her team had personalized just for her and the cute bow that clipped perfectly to the front of her hair. It brought a smile to her face and even more so when she looked over to see Skylar just as excited to wear hers.

"Listenn- you're going to do amazing Mila. I mean you alwayss do." Skylar said as she fixed her bow. "If anything— let's just keep an eye out for Whitney. She's been a real bitch lately." She murmured, rolling her eyes, before turning out of her mirror and walking over to Mila. Mila snickered, thinking back to how furious Whitney was at her earlier today.

"She needs to get over herself," Mila said, her tone vicious.

Mila hadn't been one to speak on controversial topics; not that she held her tongue but a part of her became too passionate when speaking...unless she wanted to end up in big trouble. However...vampires were a different story. She owed them her whole life as she knew it. I mean...they practically raised her. She huffed, maybe it was best not to think about that right now. the image of that sexy blonde boy flashed across her mind. She knew a vampire from a mile away and he was staring at her the entire time. She tried to pretend she didn't notice but at some point, it got hard to ignore. His bright green eyes were pretty noticeable against most. Curiosity was getting the best of her. Why had his attention been so heavily set on her? Who was he?

"Hey, milaaa! Earth to Mila, come back to me." Skylar said waving her hand. Mila was forced out of her pondering as she focused on honey eyes stared at her. "What's got you thinking so hard? I can see smoke above your head." Skylar swished away the invisible smoke above her head causing mila let out a soft laugh.

"Nothing that matters right now," Mila said. She let out a deep sigh. "I'm just feeling.."

"Anxious?" Skylar questioned, finishing her sentence. Mila nodded her head. "Hey, I'm here right beside you. I promise you'll do great." She said, forming a smile, opening her arms wide for Mila to accept.

"Thanks." Mila said, accepting her hug. "you're the best."

Mila took in a deep breath. "Three." She shouted, bending her knees. "Two." She said sprinting. "One, Go!"

In perfect symmetry, the girls lined up into two lines, jumped up, and turned into a perfect backward tumble as Mila sprinted down the line in a row of cartwheels. She turned as she did her cartwheel, turning it into a back handspring, then put her hands up. "M.C.E.A!"

"Stand tall, fight hard, Give your all!" Said the other girls, running in every different direction forming three groups. Mila quickly sprinted to the middle pyramid, looking over to see Skylar smiling at her. She returned the smile as on cue, flew into the air. She and the other two flyers quickly transitioned into the liberty, holding one leg behind them and they spun In a circle, then with a bounce, spun into a 360 as the bases caught her fall. She flash smiled at them as everyone quickly ran in different directions and continued with their performance.
