goob quickly opened the door to sprouts cafe, a bell chime could be heard as he did so. he was instantly greeted with a heavenly smell of baked sweets and drinks which made him hungry just thinking about it! he waved to cosmo who was helping sprout with measurements for a pie.
"heyo goob!! what brings you here?" cosmo asked, walking up to him now.
"me and shrimpo were supposed to meet here for our date!!" goob quickly responded, a goofy smile plastered on his face as he slightly whispered the last part. the word of them dating hadnt been spread around yet but the process was HORRIBLE.. very awkward.. but it worked!
"ooh?? new boyfriend?? make sure he treats you right goob..!" sprout chirped in from afar, not to trusting of shrimpo but either way he listened to the two of them speak to each other.
"im sure hes the one! hes changed a bit!! well.. around me atleast.." goob chuckled nervously.
"whatever you say goob.. i gotta help finish this pie, go have a seat!" cosmo commented, shooing him off with a pat to his back to which goob nodded, walking over to a table with two seats.
a few minutes passed before another bell chime could be heard. goob perked his head up, immediately smiling and trotting over to shrimpo as he walked in. "SHRIMPO!!" goob called, pulling him in with a hug. shrimpo opened his mouth to protest but was immediately squeezed tighter, a heavy wheeze escaping his mouth before he was set down.
"gh.. OW?!" shrimpo poked goobs chest with a finger once, hard. goob giggled as he pecked his forehead.
"cmon!! we gotta order something!!!" goob called, grabbing onto shrimpos hand and leading him to the counter. "I CAN WALK OVER THERE MYSELF." shrimpo declared though he didnt pull his hand away oddly enough.
they both scanned the menu for a moment before just settling on donuts as it was rather cheap. they waited for a moment as sprout emerged from the back, greeting the two lovers.
goob quickly voiced, "two glazed donuts..?" shrimpo just stood there, looking off into space for a moment
s- "alrighty! any drinks?"
g- "nope!"
s- "ill bring them right out!"
goob nodded before turning to shrimpo, gently nudging him reassuringly. he was expecting a bit of a kinder reaction from shrimpo other than a simple '>:(' face.. but.. as long as he acknowledged him right?! he opened his mouth to speak before cosmo came out with the donuts, handing them to goob as he payed.
"thank youuu!!!" goob called back as he and shrimpo walked off to the table. they sat down and started to chat for a moment.
"would you wanna come over to my room for the night? scraps is hanging out with poppy and flutter so itll just be us!!" goob suggested.
"UGH. FINE!! BUT IF YOU MAKE IT WEIRD IM NOT STAYING." shrimpo uttered, somewhat aggressively grabbing his donut to take a bite out of it. goob giggled slightly as he started to eat his own, glancing at shrimpo every now and then with a loving expression. the date was going good so far!!!
the two continued to chat before finishing; the waved and said goodbye to cosmo and sprout, well, goob did atleast.. as they walked back to their rooms, slight stares washed over them. they were all probably confused about shrimpo walking next to him instead of insulting him or stopping goob in his tracks but they will find out sooner or later!
goob gently and slowly opened the door to his room, peaking in to see if scraps had left, and to that, she did! he invited shrimpo inside first, moving aside as he shut the door behind him. they will probably do some crafts or just yapping some more about random things but goob didnt care really, as long as they were together!!
THE END!! SORRY IF THIS WAS SHORT OR NOT WHAT U WANTED I DIDNT HAVE MUCH OF AN IDEA AND IT WAS SORT OF RUSHED 😿😿
