Life without color.
That was the life Jade Lavender lived in. All her life, all she knew was grey, black, and white. She went through the same dull skies and colorless fields every day. At least she didn't have to go through it alone.
"Jade! Hey, Jade!" She turned around the see her best friend, Lauren, running at full speed towards her.
"Oh, hey Lauren! What's up?" Once Lauren had reached her, she bent over and breathed heavily.
"Ryan Mitchell asked me to the Summer Luau Dance!" She squealed.
"No way! Lauren, that's amazing!" Jade shouted as she hugged her friend.
"It is..but Jade, there was no color." Her excited face fell.
"Oh, Lauren..it's okay. Not always will he be the one." Jade replied, giving some reasoning.
Lauren loosened from the hug. "But Jade," her hopeful eyes looked at Jade. "When will we meet them?"
Jade took a breath, she smiled and knew she couldn't give a very sure answer.
"You will meet him very soon, and it will be the most wonderful thing you had ever experienced."
The usual cheerfulness in Lauren's eyes come back.
"Right. The best thing I've ever experienced." And she smiled.
