Dalila had always been known for her kindness, but she never imagined her goodwill could extend beyond simple gestures. She had been watching her classmate climb up the playground slide when his foot slipped, sending him tumbling backward.
Without thinking, Dalila reached out—though she was too far away to physically catch him. But then something remarkable happened. Time seemed to slow, and the air between her outstretched hand and her falling classmate shimmered. A soft glow enveloped the boy, gently lowering him to the ground unharmed.
She stood there, stunned, unsure if what had just happened was real. It wasn’t until later that night, flipping through an old "fairy tale book" her family had passed down for generations, that she found an eerie description of powers that appeared in their bloodline once every century. Her mother had always called it a legend, something made up to entertain children—but now, Dalila wasn’t so sure. The realization that her family’s tales were more than just stories began to sink in.
