New friend

   "How is this a school." I sighed crashing on the soft bed till ii finally fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of someone knocking the door, thinking it was my sister, I jumped in excitement but as I opened it, I saw two black abysses, deep and fathomless like they would suck in the light in the surroundings. Yet, within those voids, two sparkling blue pupils shone like stars complementing her glistering scales that were shining under the sun.

"Wow." My mouth refused to close losing it's words. "Hi, I'm Amaris." Not only did she look angelic, she sounded angelic as well "Hum, My name is hum, Nov... Skype, I'm skype." I shooked my head thinking if all the people in this schools were models. "Nice to meet you skype." With a huge smile showing her sharp razor sharp teeth, she stretched her hands for an handshake and I shooked it feeling her scales, they were smooth "Woah." My ands traced her smooth scales in curiosity when it hit me that my powers hadn't been activated for a while. "What's wrong." She took her hands back sadly thinking I was afraid of her calm yet dangerous look.

I looked up worriedly and she looked up as well thinking about what was going on. "It's not working." I clenched my fists worriedly and as I stepped out of the house, the sunny weather began to get cloudy and a smile crept on my face and once again the sun took over then a look of confusion crept on my face about why it didn't work in the house then the sun shone brighter.

AMARIS POV

Now I know why she's in the danger zone house, my sister warned me about how dangerous and uncontrollable their powers are but still I believe that they are good, fun people and I have a feeling that we'll be good friends. It's so hot

The siren in front of me was already panting heavily and I realized that the more I got curious, the more hotter it got. Still feeling curious, I got inside the house and the weather went back to normal. "Hmm," I satisfied my curiosity and I saw Amaris still panting "I need to go now." she took one leg after the other "Wait," I called her back knowing it was my fault that she's getting dry "Please come in." I led her to the kitchen and gave her a glass of water but it didn't work "I need to go back to my dorm to soak myself." the panting lessened but she was still dry, her shiny scales looked dim and dry "You can use my shower," I led her into my room then opened the bathroom door.

She smiled at me before getting in and I closed the door. I heard the shower run for so long I lost count of minutes. The shower stopped after what seemed to be an eternity and as she got out with her bright smile, her blue shiny scales shone along with her. "am sorry about that." we both said at the same time making both of us laugh "You're really shiny now that you're not dry." I beamed at her "Wait till you see me in the dark or when I'm in the water in the dark." She smiled probably remembering her families "It's my first time seeing a siren in real life, just in books and news papers," I said "Well, our kinds are well hidden and we don't come out on to the surface," she explained "So you're shy creatures then?" I asked "No, we just don't like attention and just like you saw, when the sun is scotching, it dries us as fast as the snap of my fingers." she explained and I wowed in amazement.

We got so close in a day you'd think we knew each other from somewhere. The loud speakers blared telling us to go to our different houses meaning it was time for us to depart. I escorted her halfway through then we both turn our backs at each other to go back home. With a smile on my face, the sun shone brightly and warmly and for the first time in a while, I breathed admiring the beauty around.
