(Ender's POV)
I drove to my friend Anna's house, happily singing along to the radio with Sierra. We were going to a cool restaurant that had recently opened. We pulled into Anna's driveway, she jumped in and closed the door.
"Hey guys!" She said cheerfully. "Let's go!"
Then I drove over to the highway, waiting to get on it. Finally I saw an opening in the stream of cars...
SCREECH!!!
We all screamed in terror as a car going over the speed limit raced in front of us and smashed into the side of the car. Glass shards and bits of metal flew everywhere, in the rear view mirror I watched in horror as my friends were sliced open with the glass and their blood splattered everywhere.
I screamed their names, but my cries were cut off short as my head was slashed open by a piece of glass from the windshield. Searing pain shot through my entire body, then I blacked out.
I drifted in and out of consciousness, I saw ambulances and police cars screech to a stop beside the wreckage. Then I was being rolled down a hall in a stretcher. Finally, I heard the sound of doctors talking franticly.
"... Coma, all of them..." I was able to pick up. "... Might not make it..."
Then I blacked out for the last time. When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in the hospital. I was outside, but it wasn't right, nothing was. The sky was a fiery orange color with no clouds, the grass was purple, and my fur-
Wait, FUR?!
I jolted up, my skin was covered in a soft layer of grey fuzz, and my hair, which was once dyed purple, was a mint green color. I even had rounded ears atop my head and a bushy tail that was tipped with the same mint green as my hair. My clothes were opposite colors as well, my jeans were orange and my red shirt was aquamarine blue.
Where am I? I wondered.
