Han so hee heart raced as she stepped forward into the street, not noticing the car speeding towards her. The lights of the city blurred, her vision clouded by tears , her eyes unfocused, her mind a haze of heartbreak and rejection. The weight of years of bullying, her parents' indifference, and the cruel words of the judges at her audition pressed down on her like a suffocating fog. The traffic lights changed, and people moved around her, but she stood still, lost in the whirlpool of her thoughts.

What's the point? she thought bitterly. If no one loves me, if I'm never good enough... why should I keep going?

Her heart pounded in her chest, and tears stung her eyes. She barely noticed the lights turning green as she stepped forward into the street, her head down, oblivious to the world around her. The screeching of tires rang in the distance, but it didn't register. Her mind was far away—until a blinding flash of headlights was right in front of her.

BAM!

The impact sent her flying through the air, her body weightless for what seemed like an eternity before she hit the cold, hard pavement. Pain shot through her, but it was fleeting. The world quickly faded into black.

The Hospital: A Shocking Transformation

The rhythmic beeping of medical equipment filled the air. Han So Hee's eyelids fluttered open, the fluorescent lights above harsh and blinding. Her mind felt foggy, her body heavy and sore. She tried to lift her hand, but it was weak and shaky.

Where am I?

Her surroundings slowly came into focus—the sterile white walls, the smell of antiseptic. She was in a hospital. Her body ached, but she could move. She blinked several times, her vision clearing as she tried to piece together what had happened.

The accident. The car. The impact.

But... why am I still here?

Before she could process further, a nurse entered the room, her face calm but carrying a hint of unease. "You're awake," the nurse said softly, relief evident in her voice. "You've been unconscious for a couple of days."

Han So Hee tried to sit up, but the nurse gently urged her to lie back. "Take it easy. You're still recovering."

Han So Hee's throat felt dry, her voice hoarse as she asked, "What happened to me? Am I... okay?"

The nurse hesitated, her eyes flickering toward the small mirror resting on the bedside table. She seemed to choose her words carefully. "You were hit by a car, but... physically, you're going to be fine. There's something else, though... something you should see for yourself."

Confused, Han So Hee glanced at the mirror, her heart pounding with uncertainty. With a shaky hand, she picked it up and held it in front of her face.

The person staring back at her was a stranger.

Her eyes widened in shock, her breath catching in her throat. The reflection was beautiful, with flawless skin, large eyes, a delicate nose, and full lips. It was the kind of face that people envied. But it wasn't *her* face. It wasn't the Han So Hee she had known her whole life.

The mirror slipped from her grasp, clattering onto the bed.

"What... what is this?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

The nurse offered a sympathetic look, unsure how to explain. "We don't know what caused the change. There was no major trauma to your face, no surgeries. But... your appearance has completely transformed. It's... a medical mystery."

Han So Hee's heart raced, her mind spinning in disbelief. "But... I'm still me, right?"

The nurse nodded. "We ran every test. Your DNA confirms you are still Han So Hee."

A Family in Disbelief

The door to the hospital room opened, and Han So Hee's mother stepped inside, followed closely by her father. The moment they saw her, they froze. Their faces paled, eyes wide with shock and confusion. They stared at the girl in the bed, but they didn't recognize her.

Her mother's voice was barely a whisper. "Who is this? Where's our daughter?"

The nurse stepped forward, explaining gently, "This is your daughter, Han So Hee. There's been... an unexplained transformation, but her DNA matches. This is her."

Her father shook his head, his brows furrowed in disbelief. "That can't be. This isn't our So Hee."

Her mother took a step closer, her eyes filling with tears. "So Hee...?" she asked, her voice shaking as she looked at the unfamiliar face. "Is that really you?"

Han So Hee nodded, her throat tightening. "It's me, Mom... I swear."

Her mother backed away, shaking her head. "No, no... this isn't right. This can't be you. You don't look anything like her."

Her father turned to the doctor, his voice rising in panic. "What happened? Can't you fix this? We want our daughter back—the way she was."

The doctor, calm but uncertain, sighed. "There's no explanation for this. But rest assured, her DNA proves she is still your daughter. This change appears to be permanent."

Her mother's tears spilled over. "We want our old So Hee back..."

Han So Hee's heart sank. She had longed for her parents to finally see her, to acknowledge her, but now they couldn't even recognize her as their own child. The love she had always craved from them seemed further away than ever.

Her Sibling and Yoon Ji Hyun's Reaction

A few days later, her sibling arrived at the hospital. They walked in, expecting to see the sister they had known their whole lives—quiet, unremarkable Han So Hee. But the sight of her left them stunned.

Their mouth hung open, words failing to form. "Is this... really you?" they asked cautiously, taking in her transformed appearance.

Han So Hee nodded slowly, still unsure of how to explain it. "It's me."

For a moment, there was silence, and then her sibling let out a long breath. "Wow... this is... unbelievable."

Before they could say more, Yoon Ji Hyun, her best friend, burst into the room, her face full of concern. "So Hee! I came as soon as I heard. Are you okay?"

But the moment Ji Hyun saw her, she froze. Her eyes scanned Han So Hee's face, trying to reconcile the stranger in front of her with the friend she had known for years.

"Is this... really you?" Ji Hyun whispered, her voice filled with disbelief.

Han So Hee looked down, her fingers twisting the hospital sheets nervously. "It's me, Ji Hyun. I don't know what happened, but... I'm still me."

Ji Hyun took a deep breath, her eyes softening as she approached the bed. "It doesn't matter how you look. You're still So Hee. You'll always be my best friend."

Tears welled up in Han So Hee's eyes as she met Ji Hyun's gaze. In that moment, she realized that while everything about her appearance had changed, the people who truly loved her—her sibling, her best friend—still saw her for who she really was beneath it all.

Slowly, even her parents began to accept the truth, though the shock lingered. They saw the same gentle soul behind the new face, the same daughter they had always had but never truly appreciated.

But deep down, Han So Hee knew that her journey was just beginning.
