I walked into Sebastian's house and it was gorgeous! It was a lot bigger than my house, anyways.
"Sebastian your house is amazing!" I whispered.
"Is it? I mean, the smell of dirty clothes and fruit is pretty awesome, but there's nothing really special about it." He said.
"Nothing special?" I whispered/yelled, "Your house is so much better than mine!"
He looked at me and smiled, "We have the exact same house, what are you talking about?"
He was right, our houses were basically twins. But, my house was different. His house had a happy vibe, it was so welcoming. My house is empty. There are no pictures, or fancy cushions. There are beer bottles in certain corners, and the first thing you smell when you walk in is smoke. My parents aren't home very often, but you can tell when they are there. I like it when my mom and dad are focused on their jobs, but hate locking myself in a room with no one to talk to.
"Anna?" Seb yelled.
"What?" I said.
"I said let's go find my mom." He said with a worried look on his face.
"Oh, um okay let's go."
"MA!" Sebastian yelled for the fifth time. We were both standing in the middle of a large bedroom, most likely Mrs. Olzanski's.
"Um Sebastian, I don't think she's here." I said.
"Sebastian?" A voice came from the window "Why are you home so late?" It was Sebastian's mom who was standing in the garden
Seb looked at me, and pulled me down the stairs, taking me to the garden.
"Hi mom!" Seb said with a cheeky smile.
"Hello Sebastian. I see you finally invited Anna into our house." She looked at me and smiled.
"Yes I did," Seb said, a little to proudly.
Mrs. Olzanski smiled. "That's lovely. So Sebastian, is she the reason you're home late?"
"Oh abo-" I was stopped.
"Yes mother, remember we took her to school today? Well, I guess that little detour took a long time and I was late to school." Sebastian said.
I was shocked. I wanted to scream. Was he really blaming me for this?
"I also got detention,
Mrs. Olzanski. I'm sorry I got your son in trouble."Mrs Olzanski looked at me in shock. "Anna, this was not your fault, Seb was probably going to get to school late anyways."
I frowned and thought of that morning. "Mrs Olzanski, Sebastian left to school right on time. I lied when I said he was always late, he's never late. He's always on time and I just get go school freakishly early. I woke up late and bothered you, and that's why Sebastian and I were late. This is all my fault and I'm sorry."
"Anna wait." I heard Seb say, but I turned around and ran out the door.
